I watched the latest episode of all access, Mayweather vs Alvarez, and watched De La Hoya claim he laid the blueprint to beat Mayweather. My only problem with his claim is he lost. Castillo, Judah, Hatton, De La Hoya, Cotto and even Ortiz had a small level of success against Mayweather, but they all lost.

My opinion is there is a blueprint out there to have measured success against Mayweather because some fighters have, but for any fighter to say they laid the blueprint to beat Mayweather is nonsense until someone actually beats him, thoughts.

Sorry if this topics been beat to hell already.

I just watched Hatton fight, I had not seen it since the night of fight.
Ricky did pretty good, better than most. He just slowed down and got caught with a few hard shots.
Blueprint: Do what ricky did,but don't slow down and have a better chin.
Every fight Floyd takes it to the next level at round 9 or so. It must be very hard to stay focused and commit to giving all you got for 12 rounds against floyd.
There is no way he is the best fit fighter in every fight, it must be mental.
The way he fights makes people give up I guess.

That's Oscars way of injecting himself into this fight. Hoping that Canelo wins so that he can claim some sort of victory for himself. That is some weak ass ***** **** but what it's par for the course for a buster who is petrified that one of his peers will overtake him in everything that he has accomplished.

I honestly dont think so. Besides a lucky shot it doesnt look like its possible

Its defense combined with that ability to adapt.

that 1-2 combination makes him damn near impossible. because hes protected by his defense while hes figuring you out, and then by the time he figures you out. its pretty much too late.

work rate slows when a fighter doesn't stay there for you to work.

I agree with you on the mental part. So many people focus on the physical and forget the mental part of the game. Mayweather has been physically outmatched in many of his fights especially recently, it's going to take an incredibly strong mental approach to beat him.

Oscar was talking bs, as usual in his role as promoter. He had some success against Mayweather but he didn't win. If anyone showed the blueprint, its Castillo who did beat Mayweather on my card, but that was so long ago and was a different (and injured) version of Mayweather I don't know if its relevant anymore.

So in short, no I don't think there is a blueprint

right the first step is to accept that he is better. To expect to miss him a lot. to count on the fact that every round you win will be difficult and that every tactic you have will be nullified.
Then when you miss and fail at your attempts you will not lose hope. So many fighter have gotten discouraged and simply stopped trying different things.
He is a man and anyone that saw the first Castillo fight knows he can lose.

    Not really, no.

    You can't outbox him.

And Floyd, for all of his detractors who think he runs, is pretty physical in the ring. I don't think he's as small as people like to think, at least not anymore. So you can't easily out muscle him.

Maybe if you kept a jab in his chest for the first couple of rounds, then change tactics.

He adapts really well, but, maybe if you went in with several different game plans and was constantly switching up that'd be the way to go.

Think the only way to beat him is throw hard bodyshots and hope they land

When hes against the ropes throw a weak 1 2 just to set up a bodyshot

Easier said than done but i dont think Floyd gets outboxed or koed by a head punch think it would have to be a bodyshot

Generally I believe great boxers, and yes mayweather is great, don't have a specific blue print to beat them because they adjust very well and very fast throughout the fight. In order to beat him you would have to be able adjust as he does, plain and simple.
