I've asked the same question before and they said they respect Mike because he fights like a man and doesn't duck, paraphrased.

Of course you have to respect Mayweather he's one of the best fighters that has ever laced them up.
He also helped bring in drug testing in boxing to a new level in Boxing.
He also showed that you don't need a promotor if you are good enough.

As a fan you have to respect what he did in the ring regardless of whether or not you enjoy his style and persona.

 

No one I know respects Mayweather. Though they agree that he was born with incredible God Given boxing talent But cursed with the courage & cojones of a gnat. He could have really been an ATG if he'd used his talent & not decided to CHEAT!! & cherry pick opponents. Outside the ring he's acted despicably abusing women etc. Even his record of 49-0 is BS he's really 45-4 at best. Castillo beat him so did Maidana He also should have been DQ'd against Ortiz & Judah
