Best versions of AJ, Usyk and Fury could hang with anybody. Unfortunately AJ seems to have developed a glass chin and Fury has the fire and drive of a hibernating sloth.

Usyk is, for sure. Fury was also up there, especially before his comeback in 2018.

I can't put AJ on there unfortunately, I think all ATG fighters should have the ability to walk through fire to get what they want.

    It's probably just Usyk.

AJ and Fury are pretty much in the same place - good, but limited by the era a bit, and with a couple of embarrassing performances each.

Fury also has the stain of PED abuse and ducking the Wlad rematch... Plus missing a chunk of his prime doesn't generally scream ATG either - then there's the luck it took him to still be unbeaten by the time he got to Usyk (without A-side privilege he'd certainly have been stopped against gatekeeper Wallin, for example).
There's just too many asterisks - it's a dramatic rollercoaster of a career, an interesting story, but all time great seems rather generous.

Joshua has quite a lot more depth, but just doesn't really feel like an ATG either - the difficulty going through the gears and unwillingness to stick to the style that would've given him longevity doesn't reflect too well.

I know this is subjective but here is my take on it. I think of al all-time great as better than your basic really good Hall of Famer. So, essentially, for me an ATG is the elite of the elite. In the case of the current heavyweight crop that is only Oleksandr Usyk. I do believe that Fury had the potential to be in that class but his personal issues got in the way and turned the back half of his career into something less than stellar.

    Usyk hard yes.

Fury and Joshua still have a chance...if they fought the winner will have clinched it.

No one else in the running yet although Wardley and Kabayel could build their legacies and Parker deserves as shout as being a cut above most of the rest.

    Usyk--ATG.
    Fury--Faded ATG.
    Joshua--Close, but fell short.
Wilder--ATG puncher, not a true ATG.
    Potential ATG--Itauma, Jalolov.
If it were him instead of Nino Valdes--Ortiz.

There's also that one prospect who switch hits a lot.

I don’t know what Fury did to be considered an ATG. Supposed master boxer and a giant to boot getting dropped all over the place… Best wins against a near shot Wlad and a limited Wilder. Inactive, inconsistent…

Usyk is one of the best heavyweights of all time. You can't rationally rank him outside the top 10. That alone is a great era.

Fury is a great heavyweight as well. He has the skills and the heart. He has the huge, dramatic wins.

Joshua was never great. A media creation. A decent fighter put on a pedestal due to politics and money. Wilder was too limited - he may have had a chance if he'd boxed since childhood.

Joshua had a billion dollars behind him, feasted on washed up 40 year olds, and still got the fight beaten out of him by Andy Ruiz, Dubois, and couldn't compete with Usyk at all. Couldn't do anything in away territory. Didn't fight Fury or Wilder despite being A side.

    Fury is greater.

You can stack up a million 40 year old Pulev's and no one will care (Chisora is better anyway LOL)
