Does the economy have anything to do with decline of boxing in America?

times are tough. some gyms charge a ton of money a month. keep in mind that most of the boxers come from the rough low income neighborhoods. there isn't much money in boxing if you're small time. alot of people would rather save their last couple of dollars than subscribe to HBO, Showtime, or pay for PPV's. this all results into a lost of interest in boxing.
