I think Deontay would have to fight his mandatory Dominic Brezeale if this fight with Fury don't take place. I think there's a difference between sanctioned and mandated.
Well if they don't agree terms it goes to purse bids right? Maybe Fury knowing he'd need to take it to purse bids to get a fair shake and linked with Arum and ESPN to get some financial clout behind him to win the purse bid. Danger is though Hearn swoops in and out bids them all.
But, at this point, the fight is not just sanctioned, it is ordered. Is ordered the same as mandated? I guess so. So, a boxing association that respects itself, in a situation like this should definitely force a purse bid and then, if Wilder decides to opt out, they should strip him. But.., We Be Crooks might think differently.
That might well be the case. Also helps with Fury getting neutral judges etc . I just wonder if it goes to purse bids, ESPN or maybe even DAZN win it , if Wilder legs it if the WBC strip him given that the fight was ordered rather than sanctioned. This is what I was getting at. The fight was ordered not sanctioned so to me that comes across the same as a mando.
Think its going to be an interesting few weeks. In theory if Wilder refuses to fight Fury if their team doesn't win the purse bids and gets stripped, could be Whyte vs Breazeale winner to fight Fury for the vacant title ?
If he loses the purse bids and then backs out I assume he'd be stripped. But he was wiling to fight Povetkin in Russia when he lost that bid, I don't think he'd back out. He'd take the fight and risk losing the belt fair and square. Without the belt he loses all leverage with Joshua or Fury. But if he does back out then yeah he should be stripped. Don't see it happening though.
Haha holy sheet, that would be awesome. That would add even more fire to the breazeale whyte fight lol damn son.. imagine the bombs flying in that fight for the WBC belt. I have to go read the WBC regulations manual again and see whats going on.
