I think most of us can agree at this point that Jacobs needs to stop Canelo to win this fight. I couldn't believe how well Canelo was taking GGG's shots albeit most of them weren't clean but truthfully, I wasn't that impressed with Jacobs in his last 3 fights and if GGG couldn't "hurt" Canelo, I doubt Jacobs can. Let's talk about it.

The power yes. The skill? We'll find out in a weeks time.

Possible, just not likely. Canelo takes a great shot and is usually measured enough to not leave a ton of countering opportunities

I'd say ... maybe. Jacobs clearly hits very hard, but then, so does Golovkin. Canelo has a great chin and survived GGG but Jacobs can throw punches in bunches. That could be the difference; if Jacobs clocks Canelo a good one like GGG caught him with in the 10th, he might be able to seal the deal.

He can knock Canelo out but Canelo is too elusive and rolls with punches too well to be caught with big shots.

Looking again at how Jacobs throws punches ... he needs to mix some straight shots into that or Canelo is gonna have a field day slipping and countering.

Jacobs has the power to hurt anyone at 160
Canelo is too slick upstairs for Jacobs to land anything clean enough
I see Jacobs getting hurt and then stopped by a nasty canelo counter

Nope, Canelo has a granite chin and is just too good for Jacobs.

    Yes!
I think Lemieux, Golovkin and Jacobs all have the power to take Canelo out... But having the power and having the delivery method are totally different

Oh, more myths. Jacobs does not have the power to knock Canelo out or put him down temporarily. Canelo has one of the best chins in the game right now. GGG threw bulldozers in there and Canelo stood firm. It's all to do with the way he stays still with his feet, it's as if he glues those feet to the canvas to make sure he's as solid as a rock.

It's one of Canelo strengths, but it's also a flaw because not moving much can be a problem against a fighter who can run rings round you. That's why I've always thought BJS has a real good chance of schooling Canelo. Jacobs isn't quite as fast as BJS, but he's a decent enough mover to cause Canelo some problems.

I see Jacobs winning on OUR cards (fans, media etc) by 1 or 2 rounds, but I see him being robbed on the official cards by one or two rounds. I said this in a previous thread, but I'll repeat it anyways. I think Jacobs needs to win 8-4 to win 7-5 against Canelo on the official cards. It needs to be a comfortable win to avoid the robbery. A very close fight will go Canelo's way and we all know it. I don't think that Jacobs has quite enough to get those 4 rounds over Canelo.

GGG threw bulldozers at canelo BUT they were slow allowing canelo to slip and move with them. Same as Jacobs
