Does the recent events distract Berto going in?

    The last thing he needs is some **** like this to go down heading into the biggest fight of his life so far, just as he said at another site, there are several family members of his lost, and several already known to be dead.

    Does Berto take the Pacquiao like Route here and attempt to help his countryman out with only a matter of days before this fight and if so does it help him or hurt him?

    I honestly think he is going to fight with alot more passion in this fight, much the way Douglas did when his mother passed.
    Thoughts?

    absolutely. he's got family members that haven't reported in. Its got to be tough for him to train.

    i would think so. i dont know about any one else but family to me comes before some fight! i would be all ****ed up if i found out that happened!!

    As soon as i heard this today on radio first thing that came to mind was berto and would he still go thru with the fight.

    I think these sorts of things can give a fighter even greater determination to win...

    look at Buster Douglas ... His mama died one month before he fought Tyson, I think it gave him that extra motivation to win
