Does the Ring Belt= The Champion

    Personally, I couldn't give a ****.

    But it's a bit early to explain to a ten-year-old why a woman might have something sticking out of her *****.

    Or trying to explain why some 'man' posting on a boxing forum might want that in his avatar.

    95% of times the Ring Champ is also the Lineal Champ or Real Champ.

    Having the Ring belt doesn't make a fighter the champion in the division. But having it gives a fighter more respect and recognition because it's the only belt that doesn't cost money because there's no sanctioning fee tied up to it.

    Technically he's not, but he is. More reliable and regarded higher than those ABC's...imo

    You will always have a break from the norm. Just watch the first five Rocky films, only a Ring magazine belt is show in those. It appears in Rocky Balboa that Rocky held the WBC etc also. (They are on the wall in his restaurant)
    The scene where Rocky is in his basement with Tommy Gunn in Rocky 5 when Gunn says "this is what it's all about" - looking at the Ring magazine belt. :cool:

    Yes. The Ring belt = the champion. One champ per weight class, and he has to earn it by beating the #1 or #2 ranked guy out there.

    The ring magazine ratings are not prefect, but they do have rules which they follow, and have 80+ years of tradition. That's as good as it gets in boxing.

    It will be hard to ever find a "perfect" system but i really think the ring is taking good steps and are the best out there. It would do to make defenses against top five opponents mandatory

    Yeah i think the Ring belt is the one that matters. The alphabet titles might make you some money, but i sure most fans would agree boxing would be more popular if there wasnt four guys in each division claiming to be the champ.

    Not the case with wlad he beat #3 chaguev and got the ring belt. Who i think wasnt the 3rd best heavy. Overall i do think the ring champ is the legit champ,however i disagree with wlad being ring champ I think its Vitali. Other than that i have no problems with the ring champions being recognize as #1 although im confuse as to why Mosley is not the Ring champ since he beat Margarito who beat cotto?:huh

    and margarito beat cotto who beat mosley so why isn't he #1

    you can make that argument for anyone of them
