Agree. How corrupt is a magazine gonna be? Rankings
titles, matchups, strippings of belts etc, done by
the sanctioning bodies are all motivated by money
and politics. Usually whoever holds the ring title is
The legitimate champ, or one of the legit champs.
Ring magazine has a history of great journalism.
Sanctioning bodies like WBA, WBC, IBF, etc have
    a hitory of corruption.

I don't care at all, but they do seem to still have a lot of support from fans in general.

The Ring lost a ton of credibility with with the 'US Boxing Championship'. It slowly built its reputation back, particularly under Farhood, and then sold out, literally, when Golden Boys Promotion brought it.

The Ring unlike some alphabet organizations has been 'proven' to of been corrupt. If you think that The Ring title is worth anymore than other alphabet organization, then you have low standards.

Two points weigh heavily in its favour.

    1. The Ring Rankings are far more accurate than those of any of the sanctioning bodies.

    2. The Ring Champion is in all probability the best fighter in the division at that point.

To be honest the idea of one true champion is long gone.

By and large the Ring champion is the best in the division but like it or not the real prize now is to unify.

Absolutely. They pretty much go with whoever the Lineal Champion is. When that isn't possible, they go with who most sane people feel is the best belt holder in the division.

It's not like they just pick some random guy to wear their belt.

D ring titlist can still avoid/duck contenders/rematches , cheat in fights , use catchweights and draining in his favor , etc .

At least not any more than d IBO/WBO/WBA/WBC/IBF titles .

Maybe more than d WBU , WBE & IBC titles still .
