I remember seeing this knockout before, but never really looked at it in slow motion

Wow, he knocked that guy out with a jab and a glancing right? Thats pretty amazing actually. I dont care if hes the tomato can of tomato cans. He was out cold from those two punches. I think Vitali has some undercover power behind his punches. This isnt the only time I made this observation.

I think Herbie Hide just faints from anxiety attacks or something. Even Vitali doesn't claim that he hit him there.

Bruce Seldon v Herbie Hide would've been a laugh.

Maybe Im seeing it wrong, but isn't Herbie out cold when hes stretched out like that?

Yea, so maybe not out cold. But definitely rocked? It was either an act, or the guy got nailed

If you saw him trying to get up, without seeing the knockout itself, wouldnt you guess he got hit with a big punch?

Sure, that would be the normal thing to assume.
But Hide was a freak. I don't think he was pretending, but I wonder whether he genuinely suffered from some strange anxiety that weakened him when up against such strong brick walls as Vitali or Bowe. Obviously, his chin was pure **** too.

Well I can counter with Holmes vs. Marvis Frazier

Holmes wasn't known as a puncher but he did have a streak of KO's during his reign.

Vitaly has power but that video hasn't changed my opinion.

    I hear you

I dont think I rate him higher because of this little revelation. But I do have more sympathy for the bums he fights for not rushing him to try to get him off balance.

Something hit him there to react like that, but Hide did have anxiety problems. He had similar problems against Bowe where he was knocked down like 8 times during the course of the fight.
As far as Vitali's power, I think its pretty overated.

He wasn't out cold. That would imply he was unconscious. Hide was having some mong attack. It's likely he just took a Seldon like dive, though I wouldn't be surprised if a jab put him into spaz mode as his chin is terrible. The right hand never even landed let alone glanced. Vitali doesn't punch hard. That's all there is too it. Arm punches and accumulation, even worse nowadays that he's holding back and arm punching more.

That's the legendary chin (or nerves) of Herbie Hide. I heard a warm breeze once knocked him over.

Bowe flattened him with a shoulder tackle.

Hide actually did pretty well in the first round against Vitali, and against Bowe too.
