psychologically it could end up changing the way he fights or takes punches or it could possibly motivate him and acually put more time into boxing than being a congressman. Although this was probably the best pacquiao ive seen since cotto.
Are you ******ed? He got droped 2 times and knocked the **** out by JMM who isn't a known puncher. This doesn't make him look good at all.
i know it sounds dumb but motivational wise it could make him better and lead him to train twice as hard as he did before especially if he wants another fight with marquez
He was doing pretty good up until he got careless and got caught. Mentally he may recover quicker if he convinces himself that he just made a rookie mistake and got caught. If he hadn't been off-balance and seen the punch, I'd like to believe that he wouldn't have been knocked out cold.
Like I said before the fight, he's past his best and will only get worse. It does not make him look worse if he realises it's time to hang 'em up.
I really don't feel the same sentiment of "Pacquiao was looking his best in years until the KO." I saw him get stunned by the same right hand 3 or 4 times in the last half of the 5th round. He got dropped hard as hell in round 3. The stoppage was decisive and set up over the course of the fight. No fluke. And as SUGARRAYSMELEE says, getting Paul Williams'd never makes a fighter better. Especially not one in his early-mid-30's.
Getting knocked out never helps a fighters pysche. Unfortunitly having experinced this in my Amatour career, I know. Not trying to make this about me but I was undefeated at the time of the knockout and i'll admit it changed my mindset and not in a positive light. On the other hand It did make go back to the fundementals and shapen up my defense. So I guess if its possible for PAC to change his style this late in the game it could be a blessing, I guess but i doubt it.
I don't really buy that stuff about him doing better either... he was doing good no doubt, but not a whole lot better. He was still getting popped, more so in those first 5 rounds than he did throughout the 3rd fight.
Your as good as your last fight. Probably his last fight and definately not too good at all. Last fight memories --- Pac lying like a dead dog on the roadside,
Robbery of the year against Marquez Loss to Bradley KOed by 40 year old Marquez *******s "Pacquiao deserves more than 40 million" :rofl :deal
Pac should stick to fighting at catchweights which drain all the strength out of his opponents. No wonder he demanded so many catchweights
