Technically/talent-wise the same. No shame in being outboxed by Usyk, and I think he'd give a lot of top 10 HWs trouble (can't really gauge if he is top 10, because he's only fought Joyce, who he ran close, and of course Usyk).

But mentally he's proven himself to have something missing. I've given him the benefit of doubt in the last fight where he seemed to injure his leg, and when he lost to Joyce I trusted that his eye injury was serious enough to warrant quitting, but this quitjob against Usyk was a really bad look. Genuinely wonder if he's got some kind of PTSD from the orbital break, because he's been down 7 times in his career now, and EVERY SINGLE TIME he's taken the knee, as if he's preserving himself, not because his legs give way under him. Something is seriously off there.

I can understand why he quit against Joyce, makes sense. His orbital was broken so why risk your eye for no belts? Come again, die another day.

    But here,
    - he wasn’t injured
    - he got knocked down by a jab
    - Three belts on the line
    - Once in a lifetime opportunity
    - could have made the count
    - didnt even protest being waved off

absolute quit job. It’s shameful, its the worst quality ever in a fighter when presented with a title shot like this.

About the same. I thought he'd get outboxed and get stopped.

Dubois really isn't any good, he's nowhere near top 10, might not even be top 15.

Neither. He did good for a green (I give him credit because of that) and limited fighter. But he still shows the same flaws. There is still some time for him to work on them. I can't tell if he will or if it will be successful and he will become a great boxer, not necessarily a champion. But let's hope for the better, as he is of the generation that we will be watching for the next decade.

Getting schooled is fine. Throwing it in isnt great but it is what it is.

Crying and trying to claim an easy way out though? That is where the weakness lies in my eyes. Lost fair and square, take your medicine respect your opponent.

He looks pretty much the same. He's good but when facing the cream of th crop his weaknesses become more obvious. He's still young though.

He should be distraught about being schooled and knocked out and not the referee making a call that looks correct on closer inspection.

Neither tbh as the fight went exactly the way most of the members on here predicted, with Dubois being out boxed and then stopped in the later rounds.

I thought he was a bit more durable. Definitely has some chin issues at heavyweight.

    Usyk KO9 on a jab.

Once again, Dubois rises at 10 instead of 9.

His only solid landed punch was below the navel.

He was rushed into a title fight to make Frank Warren some money and wasn't ready.

The only reason for Warren & Co. to make the fight was to make money off of Dubois as they were basically cashing out on DuBois.
Warren & Co.'s big hope was for to DuBois to land the big punch, and he did, but it was little low. If only Tony Weeks has been the ref.

    Worse
if AJ would have hit him that hellacious gut busting shot he would have had the skills to get him out of there (low or not)
That 2nd fight was incredibly close
Add that “bladder buster” in to the mix = advantage AJ.

His whining and claim of being robbed makes him look worse. The fight beyond "low blow-gate" was actually how most expected, he wasn't gonna ever outbox Usyk,

Yep, he doesn't seem to have any stomach for combat when it presents itself. Many times you've seen fighters have to dig down deep when the spaghetti hits the fan and I don't see any of that in Dubois. I think he's taken an off ramp towards gatekeeper boulevard.
