    Agree with you.

Though to the original question, it proves nothing. Calzaghe and Kessler are nothing like each other.

yes i am aware of this, however the thread title has a question mark. so what im asking is... in this instance do you feel calzaghe would beat froch, based on the performance shown last night?

What people need to realise is that a prime RJJ, Hopkins and Calzaghe (late 90's) are leagues ahead of Bute or anything else in the super six. The middleweights of the 80's like Hagler and Leonard were a step up again (I would RJJ at his peak in that Hagler/Leonard company). In Fact Leonard and Hagler could give these guys 8 pounds and still dominate them. Calzaghe aint in Sugar or Marvins class but he is a HUGE step up on what we have today in the Super 6. Joe C of the late 90's would have KO'd Kessler. He had serious problems with his hands (read his autobiography, he nearly pulled out of both Lacy and Hopkins fights) and this diminished his power and Calzaghe had to find other ways to win. Hence this hand slap reputation. Before his hands got hurt his KO perecentage was awesome. Any man that could nearly KO a guy like Chris Eubank in round one can hit hard. Towards the end of his career though that power was greatly diminished. Seriously Calzaghe would have made a fool out of Froch.

Kessler and Froch are world class but no where near pound for pound and thats the level I a referring too. Ward and Bute have so much more to prove before they make any pound for pound list. Especially Bute who I KNOW will get exposed by Andre Ward as soon as he leaves Canada.

This and more would prove, actually Froch alone proves that Calzaghe would make him retire from boxing and choose another profession.

The Kessler/Froch isn't needed as a form line, Calzaghe would outbox Froch, and win easily.

We didn't need this fight as proof.

Froch would be Joe's ***** for 12 rounds, start to finish - he wouldn't win a round. (Speaking of a prime Calzaghe)

Calzaghe would easily beat froch, it wouldnt even be close, froch is very limited, calzaghe has good movement and speed and variation, he was a good boxer and froch is not

    I agree with this :good

Froch wouldn't have won a round against Calzaghe it would have been embarrasing.

It doesn't prove anything. They never fought, so we don't know and we really don't know who would have won. My opinion on the matter is I would take Calzaghe to beat up Froch and pretty much win in a shut out, but is it true? No of course not.

Each fight tells it's own story, so last nights fight against Kessler says nothing about how he would do against Calzaghe.

Having said that, Calzaghe is a style nightmare for Froch

And how exactly does Froch's style give him a chance with Joe?
