Does Tim surpass his dad Kosta if he beats Harrison and Charlo?

In my opinion he'll definitely be out of his dad's shadow but he will need more wins. Kostas win against undefeated Judah is hard to beat.

Small Charlo may be better than anyone King Kostya faced as a professional. He's solid all round. The Yankee Doodles would wheel out Errol Spence if Timmy takes the crown from Charlo. Add him to the hitlist & Tim's run would top that of Dad. And then Crawford after that.

Depends on whether Charlo does the Funky Chicken.

What a ridiculous question. Daddy Tszyu won 15 title fights and beat a whole host of good fighters. So far, Baby Boy Tszyu has done nothing and wins over Harrison and Charlo just means he is far behind his dad instead of really far behind his dad.

The truth of the matter is King Kostya never faced any of the A-level Americans during his professional career. By 'A-level' Americans, I mean Oscar, Shane Mosley & later on, Floyd Mayweather. There are various reasons why those fights never happened including the risk / reward factor for the A-side Americans. Kostya therefore needed to craft a career beating the best B-level Americans who were willing to face him. That meant the likes of undefeated Zab Judah (who would go on & become Undisputed Welterweight champ) & Sharmba Mitchell. Kostya fought a lot of other very good professionals along the way (Hector Lopez, Miguel Angel Gonzales, an old JC Superstar & Diobelyis Hurtado) but he never got to face off against the A-level Americans who he was definitely capable of knocking off.

The good thing about Tim's career is that he's not feared to the extent that Kostya was & if he keeps winning, the fights Dad never got he will. I always wanted to see Tim do three things his Dad never did - one is fight for (& win) a WBO World title. There's not one of those in the Tszyu family trophy cabinet. There will be if he beats Tony Harrison on Sunday (Saturday night US time) even if it's an interim version. The second thing I wanted to see him do is move up in weight when he outgrows his present weight division. Anyone who saw Kostya Tszyu on the scales in his last couple of professional fights (against Sharmba Mitchell & Ricky Hatton) would know that he was no longer a Light Welter at the time.

The third thing I wanted to see Tim do that Kostya never did was fight in Russia. I've put a line through that one for obvious reasons but I've got a new third one for him. To face the A-level Americans of the present day - Small Charlo, Errol Spence &/or Bud Crawford. As great as Kostya was, if Tim keeps winning he will get the chance to do the things his Dad never did. A win on Sunday will enable him to do two of the three things I've set out above.

I'd make him B+ myself. A- if I'm being generous.

No. Tim needs better to be in bigger fights. If he becomes undisputed, that's good for him, but he would have gotten there by beating 1 guy. Kostya have a much deeper resume and fought a lot of good opponents.

Tim is still young and if keeps fighting and keeps winning, then he will craft a legacy that rival his father's, if not surpass it.

Big NO to your question but I hope he do surpass his dad one day.

Tim used the gym I’m training at in Vegas and he was super cool when he was there, him and his team were nice and respectful to everyone so I hope he do well in his career.
