Does Tim Tszyu have the worst management in boxing?

He lost a world title in his last fight & has been ordered by the IBF to fight for one in his next. So to answer the question, no, I don't think so.

 

He has made millions already. They haven't done that bad of a job it could be better

 

He literally just got ordered a belt with Bakhram on the side

 

It was his corner/ringside team that messed up, not his promoter.

The Fundora fight was a monumental balls up by Tszyu’s corner team. As you said, it should have been stopped prior to the end of the 4th round. His team should have whispered in Tim’s ear ‘tell the ringside doctor you can’t see’ which wouldn’t have been a lie, he’d still be a world champion as the fight would have been stopped and gone to the cards. There’s nothing noble in fighting a battle where you’re heavily disadvantaged.

It was a good move not taking the Ortiz fight, what was the reason for that though? Officially it’s because the cut wasn’t healed but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was because the fight was too risky coming off a loss, two losses in a row would be detrimental to his marketability in the US. His promoter has lined him up with a world title opportunity in his next fight.

That Turki doesn’t seem too happy with Tszyu, what happened there?

 

Tim's doing great? At the top of his game, heading PBC plenty options and has years ahead of him still. Management isn't to blame for corner work either

 

We see Aussies get thrown in the deep end in America all the time then obviously come up short. Tims rise has been calculated perfectly.

Only hitch has been half hearted Charlo but the world finally figured him out.

 

They’ve done a good job. Not his fault both Charlo and Thurman bottled it.

 

Jared Anderson's management comes to mind as being worse.

They have done a fantastic job up until now. Especially considering not a lot of us thought he would make it as a fighter.
They have gradually built his profile and got him some big purses a long the way. He was already born with plenty of money in the bank, so money isn't as big a motivating factor as others who have nothing to fall back on.

Not sure the deets of the Turki situation. That would be unfortunate if his management hurt that relationship but Tim is actually in a position where he can earn plenty domestically independent of the big promoters.

 

A lot of these lads don’t understand the Aussie market Anthony Mundine was the pioneer and made 30million in his boxing career it paved the way for others like Danny Green and Jeff Horn to make a fortune fighting domestically hell even Paul Gallen has made millions from boxing in Australia now the Tszyu lads are doing the same.

 

Tank Davis has worse management. Devin Haney also. Ryan Garcia.

Crawford only becoming mainstream at 36 years of age was also terrible management

 

There are not "plenty options" at PBC. Fundora rematch although Fundora wants someone else, Jermell - not known if he ever fights again, Spence - not known if he ever fights again, Thurman - not known if he ever fights again, and Lubin. So like...1-2 options.

No, Tim should've gone the Turki route

 

He was probably happy to fight bums until he was 28, like so many other prospects.
