Look, again I say he was a terrific fighter. I just feel the way he lost in crunch time agaist the all time greats hurts him as an all time great. I'm talking the best of the very best. When I thnk Tommy Hearns I think physical freak, lightning jab, huge right hand , world class heart, shakey stamina and dentable chin.

No doubt he had some great wins ... I just put him one step below a Leonard or Hagler.

I don't see how Hearns' stamina was shaky.

He got TKO'd in the fourteenth round of a very high-paced fight with Leonard. Alot of the "exhaustion" in the TKO was the damage he'd been taking from Leonard all fight.

He could possibly have beaten the two greats that beat him in a rematch after their first encounters, but strangly enough Marvin nor Ray were quick to get back in the ring with him, they knew the risk. The first Barkley fight was a lucky shot,a great punch, but Hearns was cleaning his clock up until that point. The rematch was an over the hill Hearns. But that's boxing

Considering his resume, I'd easily say yes, they do overcome those two defeats.
