There's certainly a case for that. The way he finished Ruddock was unbelievable and a lot of oter guys.
A case for maybe the best heavyweight left hook of the last 20 years? Sure. A case for THE best left hook EVER? ...nope, no case. :yep
We'll if you're not doing the P4P greatest left hook. Julian Jackson would certainly make a case for p4p. He also could hook right or left. Jerry Cooney tough one to call. Same with Frazier or Marciano or Tyson. Who do you think is greater?
Tyson rarley threw the left hook on it's own, he threw it in combination with other, very fast, powerful punches. Morrison threw a perfect left hook and as a single punch on it's own. An argument could be made that Tommy's hook was as heavy or heavier than a single left hook from Tyson. I wouldn't argue that point though...............:yep You'd be splittin' hairs either way.
During his own time, certainly Tito for p4p. In his own division but before his time, prime Tyson and Frazier are the clear front-runners (with some others neck and neck with him). Hell, even in his own division and during his own time, Tua and Declining Tyson are nipping at his heels. He's got a case for best heavy hooker of the last 2 decades, but only by a photo finish.
He most definitely landed one of the HARDEST left hooks ever. The hook he landed on Donavan Ruddock was a thing of beauty, and I'm still amazed how he got up from that! :scaredas: One of my favorite youtube clips I might add. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07E4ps4mkXw[/ame] Slam! Bam! Thank you ma'am!
Wtf are you smoking? Gary Lockett p4p number one left hook puts tyson and morrisons to shame [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPK6bEhsfOI[/ame]
It's hard to put it above Joe Frazier's or Trinidad's. When people got hit with Trinidad's hook, they immediately would get the look of "WHAT THE ****!?!?!" on their face.
