Tony Bellew going to make Stevenson look clumsy. I for one do not underestimate Tonys boxing skills I knew from early days. That he is World class. Unfortunately this is going to be more easier than you think and Tony thinks. If tony keeps his composure. he has this fight by split decision Marquez and Bradley scoring comes to mind.
Boxing is an unpredictable sport, fighters can turn up out of shape, land a lucky punch, get cut or injured during a bout. Considering all of this I would give Bellew a 25/1 chance of winning.
Cloud has a MUCH better chin than Bellew. Infact didn't the commentators say he had never been down in pro or am and he even claimed he hadn't been down in sparring. Bellew was hurt against Chillemba.
It does not work like that 1.) Bellew will likely be out of there by this stage. 2.) Just because you work harder does not mean you get tired first. Not if you have better stamina. Personally Bellew comes across as a first class ***** to me. His antics in the build up to the Chilemba fight were a disgrace, I have boxed myself no where near that level but you still show your opponent respect. Then after the fight which chilemba clearly won by a few rounds (I had it 117-111) Bellew got in his face again and started giving him **** for saying he felt he won, even though the majority of people on the Brit forum here felt Chilemba won.
Tony's a great guy and a real great talker. Heart on his sleeve and a real character in British boxing. His talking keeps people interested in his fights and you can tell he really loves the game loves being a bit of a celebrity and loves the fact he's actually a 'pro boxer'. But....... The bottom line is in all these years he hasn't really fought anyone and he just doesn't seem to be able to knock anyone out. He's more talented as a talker than an actual boxer. Outside the ring he's world class but inside he's just average unfortunately. He's putting everything into this WBC belg and beating Stevenson who's the first real class opponent he's ever faced whereas Stevenson has probably sparred more talented boxers than tony. Heart and stamina means a lot in boxing but if bellew thinks it will compensate for his lack of skill and power and technique then he's very much mistaken. Gonna be sad to watch Stevenson ruin Tony's dream. But on the plus side I'm sure tony can have a great career on tv once he's hung his gloves up. I look forward to watching him talk boxing for many years to come but that's all he really is ....... Talk. Just my opinion guys.
After reading some of the posts, I am beginning to have some doubts about how good Stevenson is. However, my thoughts on the fight is that its not going to be a tickling contest, my opinion is it will be an absolute war and if that happens whether people have over inflated how good Stevenson is, one thing is he can punch and the other is Bellew has been floored before. Can Bellew stay out of the way of Stevensons big shots, to be able to get off his own shots, I know its obvious but its the key to the whole fight.
