Mayweather's overrated at 147. He's insanely good at any of the lower weightclasses, but at 147 he was just "really good" as opposed to "phenomenal".

Tough one, Floyd is the better boxer BUT Tito is decent himself and he has a very large size and strength advantage, a pickem fight, but if I had to choose I would think PBF could outbox him on his way to a UD. AT 154 Tito definetly wins though.

Floyd just wasnt that good at 147 and was up against mostly dismal opposition.

Tito could knock him out...Its a reasonable chance.

My pick would be for Tito to have him so frightened of opening up that PBF holds, covers up and runs to the final bell. I rate his defense and chin good enough to do that.
But that strategy would not see him bring home the bacon against a prime Tito...Not that I rate Tito as highly as others do though, its just as has been mentioned before Floyd isnt the fighter he was at the 130-135 that he was at 147.

:verysad You are the worst nutthugger ever...

He's only been down by a power hitter like Vargas at a higher weight class...
And from Jones and B-Hop...again...higher weight classes.

No one would've put Trinidad on his ass @ 147.

    Trinidad SD :hat

The Trinidad that beat Whitaker (who did so more convincingly than DLH did) could decision Floyd.

YES Floyd Saddle Club members - Sweat Pea was indeed past his prime in that fight, but I could see that era Trinidad giving Floyd some problems.

They might split 10 fights pretty evenly amongst them on points, but seeing as Floyd's 147 achievements have been based on a 140lber (Judah), Bladomir and a shot old DLH at 154 it's hardly like there's evidence to the contrary that Floyd would easily decision a prime Trinidad at 147.

I think there's a certain size element as to take Floyd on prime - You're talking a 130-ish pound Floyd, whereas Trinidad fought effectively at 160. That needs to be factored into the equation.

Floyd could definatley win on points, but prime on prime I'll favor the larger man.

    I agree.

DLH was able to outbox Tito by keeping a busy workrate and constantly throwing in combos, he also had a better jab and more power in his shots than Floyd. At 147, Mayweather wasn't much of an offensive force, he tended to potshot much more often than throw in combos. Tito himself wasn't clueless for technical skills either, he had a solid jab, knew how to block shots pretty well, and was an excellent punch-picker and very precise.

Trinidad probably wins a pretty close but clear decision, maybe suffering a brief flash knockdown early.

Floyd is not the same fighter at 147 as he was at 130...Tito was a beast at 147, he wins a close, clear decision IMHO.

I've got much, much more respect for Tito's body of work at 147, but it doesn't negate that in his big fights against elite defensive fighters, he barely won a single round. Floyd wouldn't make it look pretty, but I think he lands enough accurate counters and makes Tito miss badly enough to sell a solid decision win.
