Did Chuvalo have: A comparable record against ranked fighters? Tua's power? Boxing ability ? Handspeed? Footspeed? Lateral movement? Head movement? If he did then they are the same level. If he didn't , the revolver is in the drawer.
Ali would win by wide unanimous decision. Ali is just too fast, too much footwork, better defense. Tua might land an occasional hard shot, but Ali clinches and gets out of trouble. Tua is too hittable, too slow, and would get outboxed. No doubt about it.
I have no doubt Ali would win 10/10 fights against Tua. He is a far superior boxer, and has the durability to survive the occasional bomb Tua might land. I doubt Ali would think much of Tua, and would probably clown him to a wide UD. Ironically however, Ali seemed to inflict the most punishment when his opponent was a big feared puncher (he stopped, Foreman, Liston, Lyle, Shavers, Frazier). Therefore, I would not even rule out Ali stopping Tua late in the fight if he felt threatened by Tua.
Wait wait wait.. Tua has a more advanced style than Ali and didn't make as many technical errors guys... of course he wins.. just ask Kevin about his modern style that beats all
No he wouldn't beat Ali but he isn't the out of shape, crude journeyman that some on here try to portray him as.
The first point, suggests that either the others were not the case, or he was not able to translate them into results. You can only hang so much on a fighter having a good set of attributes on paper.
