Does tyson fury still defeat Wembley klitschko?

Yeah, there's a debate there to be had.
Obviously the Fury who clearly beat a 39 year old Wlad beats a 41 year old Wlad.

The question of whether he beats a 31 year old Wlad is more interesting.

 

Tyson fury is tough and at 6'9 not an easy fight for most. klitchko like Joshua arent small fighters either and they have power.If they press Fury they either win on points or knock him out bc they also have the abilities to reach him. Theres actually only one fight that shows somewhat his skills and that was the Chisora one the second rematch. Theres not much to go on really beyond Wlad not throwing anything ,and its not bc Fury displayed some master class boxing lesson...

Im not even sure he actually won that fight bc you have to beat the champion to BE the champion. He actually missed many shots that looked like they hit and he had about 20 LIGHT taps to Klitchkos body in comparison to Wlads more solid shots and didnt dominate anything really to win a title in my book. I actually think Wlads mannerism made fury look like he was winning....whatever.....


Fury is elusive and his biggest strength is avoiding punches when he boxes outside and always positions himself out of harms way usually ( though Wlad clearly had openings) Not much to go on really,i think he beats many guys H2H...some guys i think could defeat him. based on styles and abilities combined....

Some have more chance to win but may not have something like power combined with skill etc....which why i seperated the categories...some would be more prone to k.o fury while others may out box him.

 

Wlad has NEVER lost 2 fights in a row,dedicated the fight too steward and knew a loss may be the end depending how he lost.,had personal issues in 2015 and clearly looked better than any fight hes ever been in........sorry but the right answer is NO!

 

Thanks for the detailed reply, you know your stuff. I still suspect you may be underrating him a touch but everybody is susceptible to bias (with the exception of your pal dagowop who insists he is one of a select few who are completely unaffected by any bias) and Fury doesn't have a very eye catching style like some fighters who I do think you may overrate H2H (Haye, Joshua, Tyson) you seem to favour the explosive power punchers.

One area where Fury reigns as the undisputed champion is pre-fight build up mind games. I will concede I like Fury as much for being an insane, hilarious, interesting character than I do for his in-ring exploits, although Chisora 2 was a great example of the furious one at his best, the Wlad fight was….well I don't know what that was. I do agree however that the version of Wladimir we saw last Saturday defeats Fury and probably starches him in the process.

 

Fury is kryptonite for Wlad. If Wlad takes more risks, Fury counter punches him, if Wlad maintains his usual one dimensional approach, Fury outboxes and outpoints him. Fury took a hard right hand from Wlad and flinched it off, Fury has much better ring IQ.

 

Wlad never fought nobody like Fury and Joshua before.
The camera eye doesn't lie but the biased fanboy does. The camera shows Wlad at 39 was the same as Wlad at 41.
Different opponents -same Wlad. Very easy to understand.

You might as well argue 92 Holmes does better than 88 Holmes against Tyson cos he beat prime undefeated Ray Mercer

 

Wlad would always have problems with Tyson Fury , but if he goes in the fight with the right mentality like it was in the fight with Anthony Joshua, he would probably knock Tyson Fury out.

He only needs to put him under pressure with his left hooks and his straight right hands , he knows now that he
can take a punch from a beast like AJ, he wouldn't be scared to go to war with featherfisted Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury could win this fight , but he would never have it that easy again.

Tyson Fury didn't win because he was so unbelievably good, he was good no doubt about it but he is not on
Wlads level.

Wlad didn't throw a punch in this fight even when he had the opportunity, he did nothing, he only lost that way because he was mentally unstable at that time.

Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko are both on another level than Tyson Fury although he is pretty good
and difficult to fight because of his awkwardness.

No . Tyson Fury prime is gone and even if he comes back his quick
lateral movement he showed against Wlad would have slowed enough
for a improving Joshua to batter him.
Ward , Ali were never the same after lay off.

 

Would we be asking this question if Wlad had had a bit more luck and stopped Joshua?

 

But he didn't . Overcoming adversity is what a fighter has to overcome.
Joshua passed it with flying colors like a young Holyfield against Cooper .

 

Now you're comparing Wlad to Bert Cooper. Holyfield was just rocked by Cooper, wasn't in near as bad shape as Joshua, didn't have to spit out his shield to survive.

 

Like I've always said, an aging fighter doesn't want to be chasing fighters down. That's when their age really shows. Fury would still cause Wladimir a lot of problems just because of his movement.
