feel like this is never talked about as much as his other attributes. I never seen this guy get knocked down or actually get hurt. their are times when you can tell he feels a punch but it never slows him down or alters his gameplan

The only time I’ve seen him rocked was round 4 or 5 vs Gassiev, he took a massive looping hook on the button at the end of the round and went to clinch right away, he wasn’t truly wobbled or anything but he was defo rocked, however that punch would have knocked most people out.

What do you mean it's never talked about ? It's one of the most talked about attributes for Usyk and its one of his strongest attributes.

it's widely acknowledged all the time by fans that Usyk has a great chin.

He clearly has a very good chin, I remember when Joshua caught him flush with a huge right hand and it basically did nothing. Joshua's one hope was he'd land that one good clean shot, at that point he must have died a little on the inside, realising his one chance of winning didn't exist.

Fury had him hurt a couple times with uppercuts in the 1st fight. AJ had him hurt a bit in their 2nd fight during one of the rounds.

He's just very good at getting away from danger when he's hurt, and he recovers well.

Yes, of course. How do you fight DuboisX2, FuryX2, JoshuaX2, Chisora, Gassiev, Brieidis, Huck, Glowacki, Joyce, Majidov, Nistor, and RussoX2 without suffering a knockdown and not be be iron chinned?

Last knockdown was Beterbiev in what, 2011?

Very good chin, and what makes it better is that it doesn't get tested very often because he looks out for the incoming punches.

Exactly... The combination of a very, very good chin with being very difficult to hit with anything big makes him very difficult to hurt badly.

It's not so much that he can't be hit, it's more that he can't get hit with the big shots as he's very difficult to time AND (as he showed again against Dubois) if you swing something big and miss, you're going to get punished for it.

Usyk doesn't have a great chin

Usyk isn't one of the greatest defensive boxers

Er. he's never been dropped, stopped or even badly hurt by a head shot

    Usyk can't punch

He's just scored a KO of the year contender, came within a whisker of KO'ing Belly, has knocked out Dubois x 2, hurt AJ with single shots and had him in big trouble at the dying seconds of their first fight, hurt Chisora a bit all of whom are way bigger than him

    Usyk doesn't sell

He just sold 90,000 + in Wembley Stadium and has sold out in every country he's fought in which is many. Poland, England numerous times, Russia, Latvia, Germany, USA, Saudi. Go check the fights they were packed out and even if that had a lot to do with his opponents many times before he became a big star it had something or a lot to do with him too and look at how many cheers he got last night. They sold over 90,000 tickets and it had a lot to do with him

All you have to do to Usyk to beat him is put him on the backfoot and be aggressive

But he's won Olympic gold, World Amateur gold, European gold, WSB at SHW, undisputed at CW, undisputed at HW being pressured and boxing on the backfoot many times. He's very versatile and is equally adept at boxing numerous different way

    Any more?

If Usyk doesn't have a great chin and isn't one of the greatest defensive boxers why has he never been knocked out or knocked down by a headshot in 374 fights amateur and pro?

Why have we never even seen him even really been hurt by one or remotely close to going down from one?

He's fought a murderer's row of punchers, a whole bunch who are some of the hardest punchers in the sport, many way bigger than him, all of whom in their backyards at least once or on the road, all the ones at HW when he was in his mid to late 30s and past his prime

How many fighters in boxing history, including the absolute greatest ones, have never been knocked down by a headshot, never been knocked out, never been badly hurt, amateur and pro even against opponents their own size in their own country, let alone by ones much or way bigger whilst fighting in their opponent's backyards or on the road and being in their late 30s?

No disrespect intended but Ali was dropped heavily and saved by the bell by a 22lb lighter Bivol sized HW

Lennox Lewis was one punch sparked out/one punch iced in the midst of his prime by fighters he was much or bigger than. He was dropped and KO'd in the amateurs

Marciano was dropped a couple of times

Joe Louis was dropped many times and stopped a few times

Joe Frazier was dropped many times and stopped a few times

Holyfield was dropped many times and stopped x 2. He was dropped and nearly KO'd by a journeyman in his 2nd defence of the HW title

Wlad was stopped x 3 and dropped many times

Larry Holmes was knocked down a bunch of times and knocked out twice in the amateurs and dropped and stopped another time in the amateurs too

Foreman was dropped a few times and was stopped

And this is just fellow HWs

No matter how you try and spin it and no matter how many Olympic gold level mental gymnastic routines you perform to try and discredit him and bring you comfort this is extremely extremely rare or damn unheard of. How many fighters can you name who have never been knocked out, dropped by a headshot, badly or even visibly hurt by one (and I mean wobbled, knees dipped or discombobulatized hurt), let alone whilst having been fighting KO artists and huge punchers who are way bigger than them many times? And if you can find any they are considered iron-jawed freaks

Rumour has it Usyk was a liquidator during the Chernobyl Disaster, he ignored the 2 minute timer and remained shovelling graphite off the reactors roof with his bare hand absorbing more than 1000 lifetimes worth of radiation. The doctors were amazed to find the only effects were one of his eyes going off centre and a gap formed between his teeth hence earning the nickname rabbit.

Not only does Usyk have a solid chin, but he's so defensively savvy that it's next to impossible to hit him with anything clean. Fury hurt him with an uppercut, and his defensive reflexes and ability to get out of trouble meant he didn't take any follow-up shots. Joshua hit him with a good right hand as well, but his ability to roll, move, and see the shots coming reminds me of Mayweather.

Floyd didn't have an elite chin, Mosley nearly sent him into orbit, Chop Chop Corley had him on Bambi legs, and Judah knocked him down, but it got ruled a slip. However, Mayweather's defense meant he was always able to take most of the sting out of the meanest shots; it's a skill that only the true elite defensive fighters possess.

Yes...he's been rocked with big shots by Briedis, Gassiev, Bellew, Chisora, Joshua & Fury

He's never been knocked down professionally...Absolute granite chin...

But his defense is good and he doesn't take too many clean shots either...So that helps as well...
