Ranking is purely subjective and opinion based. But for me, Lomachenko is the most skilled boxer I've ever seen. And yes, that includes me ranking him over the likes of Willie Pep, Pernell Whitaker, Floyd Mayweather Jr and etc. And yes, I have watched all of those boxers fight.

I have no reason to be bias. Just saying it, as I'm seeing it. I've never seen a boxer who combines complete athletic qualities, along with complete technical and tactical abilities, as Lomachenko does.

If you don't want to give him as much credit, or don't want to claim he is great, then that's entirely your own prerogative. Likewise, I also don't have to give the same credit to past boxers, as you do.

But history will speak for itself. If Lomachenko inspires more people globally to become boxers and to box the way he does, then his greatness OBJECTIVELY will surpass those other boxers mentioned to be superior to him.

And me personally, I don't separate Lomachenko's amateur boxing accomplishments from his pro boxing accomplishments. They are both what makes him a GREAT boxer. He could have retired after he finished his amateur boxing career, and would have gone down as at least a 'great' boxer, even if he hadn't had a single pro bout.

I tell people to ask themselves this question: If you wanted to promote the sport of boxing to other people who have never watched boxing before, so that they become interested in boxing and want to take part in boxing. Especially to other sports fans who are fans of sports, similar to boxing like combat sports such as Muay Thai or MMA. What boxer will you tell them to watch? Which boxer do you think they'll enjoy watching the most? Which boxer will most likely get those people, interested in the sport of boxing?

Or, if there was any boxer who would have the best chance at being successful in other combat sports such as MMA and Muay Thai with the shortest possible preparation time, and that boxer was representing the entire sport of boxing and its effectiveness as a general combat system, which boxer would you select to take part in such competitions?

My answer to those above two questions would be Vasyl Lomachenko (and perhaps a prime Manny Pacquiao too) without any hesitation.

Vasyl Lomachenko and his father are nothing but a credit to the sport of boxing in GENERAL. They transcend nationality, ethnicity, skin color or any other divisive factor. And I suspect everyone knows this. Including hardcore fans of other boxers such as Andre Ward, Floyd Mayweather Jr and etc.

If you're a TRUE boxing fan, there's no way you could avoid being a fan / supporter of Vasyl Lomachenko who represents everything that is good and right about the sport of boxing.

Deep down, when push comes to shove and the sport of boxing was forced to be promoted due to perhaps boxing not having sufficient fans any longer, or if boxers were forced to compete in other combat sports to PROVE the worth / value of the sport of boxing as a GENERAL combat system in terms of effectiveness and entertainment value, as long as one is a TRUE fan of boxing, then even the biggest haters / critics of Lomachenko right now, would choose Lomachenko to be the ultimate representative and the ambassador of the sport of boxing.

Lomachenko = Boxing. There's no two ways about this!

A bit odd people hang on Lomachenko's loss, as if it really indicates much other than he's ambitious, got a lesson in the difference between the amateurs, and has improved tremendously since then.

Athletically and giftedly, ya he passes better than anyone ive seen in at least the last 30-40 years. Still waiting to see results wise though. Favorite fighter to watch by far.

I agree with everything you said...I just really wanna see him against another great fighter. I’m really disappointed that Mikey Garcia fight may never happen

Aren't we past the point of the "eye test". That phrase is usually used for unproven/prospect level fighters who are on the come up, who look like they may have the goods but aren't tested yet, n+ot guys already established in the p4p rankings.

Lomachenko passes the eyeball test, but he has been steered in an odd manner by his handlers.

He's above Crawford pound for pound, but would probably get raped by Crawford of they ever fought.

Rigo is a great fighter, he was dismantled. Not by the size difference but
Loma was simply light years ahead of him. Even now, I don't see anyone
else doing to Rigo what he did.

Mikey would get dominated. They may still fight after Errol beats on him and knocks him back to the lighter weights. It's a good fight and should happen.

I have no questions whatsover about Loma. No one beats him unless he gets too
filled with hubris and goes to far up in weight (I think he realizes he can only go up
so far so don't think that will happen).

Do you think Lomachenko will have a bigger impact on the sport of boxing than say Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson? Will he end up having a greater legacy than those guys?

People complain about lax matchmaking all the time, hang on to losses when guys are matched tough, and wonder why cushy matchups continue to be made.

His second fight was Salido in Texas, and that got followed directly by Gary Russell. That's an insane turnaround.
