Usually it is in the reverse direction, against all "Eastern European" fighters...so maybe I'll let him slide this time.

Kovalev has nearly every advantage except age here, and maybe slight inside advantage vs Ward

    Ward UD's Kovalev.

    Beterbiev smashes him.

    Quote me.

You mean he has power over Kovalev?

    What about boxing skill?

I really hope the fight happens. Ward is great but he's really been off track for the past four years now. Despite this, it's still a very good match up and will be exciting to see.

It will be a huge boost for Ward if he wins but it will likely signal the end of his already waning career should he lose. Ward's heart just doesn't seem to be in the game and I'd guess a KO loss from Kovalev will send him packing.

Lesser men than Ward have put Kova on his butt. Nobody can predict this fight with certainty, but my hunch is Ward by T.K.O

I was really surprised the bookies are favoring Ward, although it's so slight they're basically saying it's 50-50.

I was personally favoring Kovalev. He might be my #1 P4P.

Who knows though. Ward is really good.

For me, it's hard to imagine a fighter doesn't lose at least a little moving up in weight classes though.

There is no way Ward wins by any way other than decision. TKO? Please.

50/50. If I had to guess, I think it will be cagey and not a heck of a lot of action. Ward's speed might allow him to catch Kov with something he doesn't see, so really anything could happen.

I think the fighter with the most effective jab will win the fight. Just my opinion.

    Only worries are Ward's inactivity.

I expect Ward to out box Kovalev.

Dummy! He's not dragging his feet! It's part of the 3 fight contract Ward signed with HBO! Kov is the third fight on the contract! Ward is fighting Cleverly which is the second fight and Kov will be next probably in November!

By the way, can you guys please make up your mind about champs moving up and fighting the bigger champ! When Haye moved up to heavy weight and promptly called out the Klits, people were crying that he needed to prove himself before getting a shot at the belt. Is it because people thought that Haye would beat one or both of the Klits? Now Ward moves up and says he needs some tune ups before taking on a beast in Kov and fools now saying he should fight him straight away! Is it because fools think that Kov will win easily? The hypocrisy on this site is beyond comprehension sometimes!

This is not an easy fight for either man! Anyone that says that knows nothing of boxing! These 2 men are top tier fighters of the highest order! Both proven and accomplished! Kov has his advantages in power and strength and can make more mistakes than Ward! Not saying Ward can't hurt Kov but , if Ward lands flush, I don't think it ends the fight. I can't say that about Kov landing flush! Ward has the ability to adapt and can fight in different styles and is highly skilled. That's his advantage! Ward has to fight a near perfect fight, which he is more than capable of doing! I think Kov is going to need to adapt in this fight more so than in any other of his fights. If he can do this well, then Ward is in for a long night! If Kov can't, then he is in deep as well. All in all this is a great fight and I don't think any one of them takes this one easy!

Is the Cleverly fight signed and sealed?
