fighting joe is like fighting a girl flailing about with windmill type punches. you just cover up and block and next thing you know the fight went 12 rounds and you lose.

a real ATG is one whom fanboys don't write 'ATG without a doubt' in every other post.

Theres a hint of desperation about seeing it written again and again and again....by the same people. But you have to do ATG to be ATG.

are you being for real here? Sven Ottke??

Sven (and his team) made public that they didn't want to fight Joe. Joe even said he was willing to go to Germany for the fight. still, they had no desire to fight him. they knew Joe was for real. all they would have got out of it was a bit of money and a former undefeated title holder being knocked out.

Joe was desperate to unify, but they didn't want to know. Reid, when he was the WBC champ, didn't want to know. but as soon as he lost it, he came running.

Mitchell was offered big money to unify when he was the WBA champ, but he instead went to Germany for much less because Ottke was the weaker fighter. he still lost. then when he had nothing to lose, he also came running for the fight.

the other guys were taking on the number 1 contender for their belts, losing, then having the same done to them. that's why the belts were being passed around so much.

the only 2 fighters that called Joe out when holding titles were Kessler and Lacy. and guess what, the fights happened straight away.

you can't get fighters into the ring if they don't want to. they can't be forced. Joe was willing to fight anyone out there. including Hopkins and Jones, but they turned big money down as well. it wasn't Joe's fault.

you're the one who's desperate around here.

your bitterness comes through on every post. :hi:

Joe is an ATG. your bitterness can't, and won't change that.

Probably first ballot next time around. Also the best resume of any champion at 168.

No-one can agree on the definition of an "ATG", so that is a pointless debate. I think it would be laughable to have him in the top 30-40 fighters in history, and after that it becomes so hopelessly subjective that it all gets a bit meaningless.

So what do you think actually happened there in negotiations? Do you honestly believe the things that Joe Calzaghe and Frank ****** said in interviews? Please, remind me again of how Joe Calzaghe said he'd fight Ottke in Germany for a Euro, I'm sure that was a statement of absolute fact.

They could have made the plum sweet enough for Ottke's people to take the fight, but Frank ****** was as afraid to have his fighters leave their own backyard as anyone in the history of the sport. Surely you must see the inevitable mutual stalemates that were destined to ensue between these two camps.

And what of other major belt-holders, such as Marcus Beyer and Eric Lucas?? Or even Mundine, who held the WBA strap twice? If you think Calzaghe and ****** couldn't have made a fight with ANY of them, you're blind, naive and probably believe in the tooth fairy.

    QED, you repeated it again.

I am just pointing out your desperation, and you just proved it once again when you could have avoided it.

so it took him almost 10 years to even try. What a joke that you think waiting 10 years means being eager - who waits 10 years when they are eager for something? its like you don't even have any idea what ten years is.

And even when he did he vacated titles ASAP. The only non wbo title he defended was against the tv show guy Bika.
