Does Wilder actually have to prove himself now before getting another shot?

Wilder is better than Dillian Whyte, by every measure. Wilder didn't lose to a 40-year-old coming off a draw. Wilder lost to the #1 heavyweight in the world, who he had already floored twice and successfully defended his WBC belt against.

The others may have to "prove themselves" to get a title shot.

    Wilder doesn't.
None of them defended the title against Tyson Fury twice. None of them has a successful title defense against anyone as good. And none of them have nearly as many defenses over as many years.

Five years. 10 successful title defenses. One loss in 12 years. Complain all you want. He wasn't defending against Hughie Fury and Razvan Cojanu, for Christ sakes. (LOL)

Everyone bar the judges and yourself thought that Fury was robbed in the first fight.

Wilder hasn't beaten anyone one of note. There is at least over half a dozen guys in the division with better resumes than Wilder.

Now that Wilder has no belt what does he have to offer? So how is he the best opponent out there?

    Usyk is the WBO mandatory
    Whyte is the WBC interim
Hrgovic vs Hunter have been called for the IBF eliminator

All of these are ahead in line for shot ahead of Wilder and rightly so.

Also Hughie Fury would beat anyone Wilder has beaten. Spzilka, Washington, Dauhulpas, Stiverne, Arreola, Molina, Breazeale are garbage defences.

Wilder successfully defended against the #1 heavyweight in the world right now and floored him twice.

    He's established.

If your argument is he fought bums before he successfully defended against the BEST FIGHTER IN THE WHOLE WORLD right now ... you've basically made anything else after that pointless.

If Joshua floors Fury twice and successfully defends against him - like Wilder did - will you say Joshua still needs to 'establish' himself? (LOL)

You can't do more than fighting the best in the whole sport. Wilder did that twice and dropped him twice.

Wilder`s not that good, I think in light of how bad he was v Fury he needs a prper trainer before he gets a title shot, Whyte deserve`s a title shot more because of his last fight compared to Wilder`s, I think you`re overrating how big a star Wilder is a little bit.

No Whyte counter punched better v Pov than Wilde v Fury and he was harder to hit, his guard is tighter, Wilder was wide open v Fury, Whyte would have done better v Fury.

Wilder ruined all that in the rematch v Fury, AJ will give Fury a far tougher test, Wilder was awful.

Usyk is better than Wilder, his fundamentals are on another level.

None of them has been slapped around by Fury the way Wilder was.

Wilder still might have something to offer the heavyweight division - why not prove it? Wilder - Whyte is a good fight, why would you be opposed to this?

Its hard to lose when that 40 year old fighter is better then anyone Wilder has ever beaten... and Hughie Fury would be a step up in competition for most of his defenses.

You guys are delusional. Wilder lost to Fury who was at 75%, he knocked him down twice but lost every other second of that fight and was gifted a decision. In the second fight he was thoroughly outclassed before getting KO’d.

I don’t hate Wilder, I hope he comes back stronger than ever and wins a belt. He just needs to earn his way back to deserve a shot. When a fighter loses as badly as he did in that second fight, against a guy who is not known as a big puncher, he needs to show he can still fight. Unlike AJ (who fought much better opposition and has a win over Wlad, Wilder only faced one true elite HW opponent and he lost to him twice. Doesn’t do much to combat his reputation as a bum killer.

I'd love to see him fight Ruiz. It would restore a lot of my confidence in him. If AJ dropped Andy, Deontay could conceivably stop him imo.
