Like the one where we say Wilder wont sign any of the contracts Joshua keeps sending his way? Thats the excuse im sticking to right now seeing as thats whats happening. But apparently those contracts are for chicken feed, much much more than Wilder has ever earnt in a single fight but chicken feed crack money.

I'm reasonably confident Joshua Wilder happens. Ultimately it's pretty rare that fights which can generate that amount of money don't materialise.

I'd say though that it's very obvious that Joshua is the money draw here. Wilder has taken something of an educated risk with the Ortiz and Fury fights, but if the latter doesn't do very well we have even more compelling evidence to suggest he's demonstrably the B side of any deal. And the risk is that Joshua can tick along with a Whyte rematch and then a Fury fight and then an Usyk fight, Wilder can't do the same. It's all or nothing for him, and I anticipate we'll see him take a sensible deal for a fight with Joshua relatively soon.

I also don't see anything in Joshua which suggests ducking. His opposition has been of a very high standard compared to any other active heavyweight.

In my opinion No, it makes it a more difficult deal to make.

It will cause a bigger difference of opinion, the promotion had been awful for Wilder Fury, the ticket sales have been very poor, if the PPV does poorly then Wilder can't be demanding huge figures.

But Wilder will claim he beat Fury and is the number 1 because he beat the man who beat the man.

In an ideal world sure, he has a point but purses and splits don't work like that, AJ will say he fills stadiums regularly, does huge PPV numbers, has 3 of the 4 belts and is widely regarded as the number 1.

Wilders purse will be calculated and estimated on what he brings to the table and if he doesn't bring numbers in this Fury fight then it's very hard to pay him what he will demand.

I see AJ fighting Whyte in April (assuming Whyte beats Chisora) and Wilder fighting Breazeale or maybe rematching Fury or maybe even Ortiz.

Later in the Year I can see AJ Vs Usyk (assuming AJ beats Whyte) and Wilder will fight Breazeale/Ortiz.

I can't see how they get over these differences in money, it's just going to get worse not better.

You should care about how much he made vs Pianeta that was a career high payday for Fury. Fury has never been a proven draw, before Wlad his biggest payday was $1.5 mill vs Cunningham in the US. While his last fight sold well he wasn't even the headliner he was the support act for Carl Frampton. Yes he can sell out the MEN or O2 himself but so can Whyte and a few other boxers in recent years doesn't mean he draws half as much or even a quarter of what Joshua does. He's by far the smaller draw, so doesn't deserve 50%, him asking for 50% is as crazy as Wilder asking for 50%.

It's simple. Wilder either accepts his biggest ever purse but for less than he wants, or he never gets his biggest purse. It's all just a buy and sell game. You want to sell a car, you have a value which is more than anyone will pay. Your options are keep the car, which you don't want to do, or strike a deal. The latter typically always ends up happening and deep down, Wilder's team know this.

If Wilder look quick, agile and powerful and scalps fury, there isn't any way AJ will go near him.

If Wilder were short, old, pudgy and slow, the fight would have happened a long time ago.

Remember they didn't hestitate to pay Charles Martin ridiculous amounts of money to buy his belt because they knew he was a lame.

    Yeah, I agree.

I believe Team Wilder have played their hands, they tried the "AJ is ducking" and "AJ is being protected" lines, AJ has fought Klitschko, Takam (Pulev pulled out) Parker and Povetkin in his last 4 fights, so it's hard to say AJ isn't fighting top heavyweights.

In his last 4 Wilder has fought Arreola, Washington, Stiverne and Ortiz, so who hasn't been fighting top Heavyweights?

Then they tried this "we offered 50 million.." I'm not going through all that, we (AJ and Wilder supporters) will never agree. I'm not saying the offer wasn't real but I had and still have problems with it, the biggest problem is that is was impossible for AJ to sign, it was backed by BT Sport, AJ is signed to Sky Sports and has a deal with DAZN, it was never really possible.

What we can agree on is Wilder was offered 15 million by Hearn, by far his biggest purse, Wilder has been earning roughly 2 million a fight and if Wilder doesn't earn more than that 15 million against Fury then there are questions that need answering.

The problem we will have now is Wilder (assuming he wins) will believe because he beat Fury he is worth far more..

Now, in an ideal world and in theory he should be worth more but because of the way they have hyped this fight and sold this fight and if it doesn't do big numbers it's difficult to justify a huge split and even more difficult to pay him that money..

The ticket sales have been awful and predicted PPV numbers don't look promising because the estimates go down by the week, it's started out as "this will do over a million PPV's" and within 8 weeks it's now "300k will be a huge success".

The next few weeks are really interesting and I personally hope it does OK, I don't believe it will be a monster event but it's bad for all concerned, even AJ and Hearn is this fails miserably or bombs.

If (extremely likely) the PPV numbers are poor I doubt the public would ever get to know the real amount. The damage control that Wilder/Finkle/Espinoza would create to steal the narrative wouldnt allow us to know that it had been a flop.

With that being said, Wilders value will have to increase slighty and i think something around 35-40% is very generous and Wilder should grab that with both hands. Any rational fighter would, unfortunately team Wilder are far from rational.

If Fury wins, I think he has a legitimate claim to be considered the best HW as it is a massive win for him after the time out of the ring and he should recieve alot of credit.

Incidentally I think Hearn would give Fury closer to 50% than Wilder would receive as Fury is known in the UK and would have 2 massive wins on his resume. 55/45 for Fury vs AJ is fair for all parties.

Unfortunately I think both Fury and Wilder massive overestimate their worth and will keep pedalling the AJ is a coward nonsense unless they get atleast even terms, which AJ rightfully wouldnt agree to.

His background with Wlad, showing how huge an event would be, and his notoriety in the UK, coupled with having an arguably better resume than AJ, would put him on a close to level playing field with AJ. AJ would have to face down a lot of local criticism if he didn't at least offer near equal terms at that point. I think they'd work out a deal. If AJ played hardball and didn't offer even 40%, then the fight probably doesn't happen, at least for a couple years. But I think there would be a lot of pressure on AJ Hearn to make a fight happen if Fury again beats the odds and beats another longtime champ in their backyard.

While in a perfect world resume would count for what you get paid that's not how the real world works. It helps to some degree because it puts Fury on a much better position than before because he'd have taken out the clear number 2 in the division in Wilder and not be seen as he was after fighting Pianeta which was basically a fighter who wasn't ready and so wouldn't be as marketable.

While beating Wilder helps improve his percentage it wouldn't get him 50/50. I mean did Mosley get 50/50 after he beat Oscar the first time? Did GGG get 50% when he fought Canelo in the rematch after a draw?

I think that it will be way bigger than that because the price is right. They had to print more tickets because all the average priced tickets were sold out. PPV falls right in the range of what people are spending. I think that PPV will sell between six and seven hundred K at the least.
