I mean his legs look like they could crack under the weight of the body. Don't know how those skinny legs would help Wilder when a top hw like Wlad or Sasha would land on his chin.

  2. Power comes from legs
    Probably not.

His legs looks so brittle. I wonder if he can squat with weights.:think

  4. He better start! I don't hate on Wilder as much as other people, but I bet there is a direct correlation between those legs and his chin.

It's genetics. Doesn't mean his legs aren't strong. He's got the legs of an NBA player. Fast twitch muscle fibers, explosive moves, more so than strength.

He'll never have the legs of Tua, no matter how much leg work he does, and it would just slow him down anyway.

Big legs doesnt mean you hit hard, and having small legs doesnt mean you are a soft puncher

The kinetic chain does start in the legs, but that doesn't mean you need to have strong legs to generate a lot of power. Proper stance/good footwork/technique is the key, not a 600 pound squat max. Just look at all the hardest punchers in boxing history, big legs are rare. Mike Tyson though had some pretty decent sized quads, but nothing spectacular compared to his upper body.

Wilder though is probably too light in general to generate optimal force, seeing as you need to be able to stand firmly planted on your feet throughout the entirety of the punch to deliver all the power. I do think that strong calves can improve punching power though, as it makes it easier to stand firm while delivering a punch.
