Humans are curious and religions are a figment of our overactive imaginations. Isn't it coincidental that everyone's religion seems to adhere to the basic moral values of whichever group of people at the time? Why are all the gods human in nature only to create a vast universe with God (hehe) knows what else? Makes no sense if you apply a second of critical thought. Religion is actual brainwashing though, I recognised that at 10 years of age and deprogrammed pretty easily. You, you're gonna believe what you want so I'm not arsed changing your mind.

 

It isn't Jimmy, the Bible was written centuries after the actual events it describes and there are multiple versions of it so I'd wager that the stories are at least a little inaccurate. Again, you're gonna believe it's true. So not arsed trying to change your mind like you're not going to change mine.

 

See Jimmy just accepting something is the opposite of thinking critically. You're supposed to question it. The only thing it frees your mind from is the capacity to think further about why we're here and helps you cope with the bleakness of death. Now that helps a lot of people, but I'm not a man in search of moral guidance so I think I'm okay thanks. I know how to behave properly. Also you're way too aggressive with your beliefs. Seriously, it's not Christian at all.

 

Jimmy that's a really pathetic argument you have there. Maybe you can look back on it one day and realise maybe you could have entertained my side of the argument more but it's not today.

 

That's debatable for certain. Ireland was a kip when the church ruled and they killed a lot of babies and raped a lot of kids here so they're really persona non grata in my country in a lot of parts now.
