Before all the Wlad nuthuggers start getting mad about the title, let me try and explain what I'm trying to say. I feel Wlads one of the most talented Heavyweights to come around in years, his power is amazing, his jabs top 3 of all-time, and it's extremely hard to land a significant punch past his telephone poll like jab and imense size being 6'6 and a half at 250.

However his mental strength seems to be anything, but ATG like. It seems he has been very fearful of getting hit since the Sanders match, which not only exposed him mentally, but physically as well, this and other fights have him questioning his own chin severly. Against fighters like Brewster the first time and Peter, he looked very uncomfortable handing the pressure they showed him, instead of battling back, he either held them for dear life or went into a panic attack and ending up hitting the canvas.

My question to you is, do you feel Wlads problem is more physical, or is he mentally uncapable of conquering his fears of getting hit by a real puncher? Also, after saturday night do you feel Wlad showed his weakness to other fighters, and made himself look less invincible to beat in a sense?

    He has a glass chin

The glass balls have manifested as a result of this glass chin

He just fought one fight cautiously.. Many fighters has done this.. He doesn't have a supreme chin, but it is no glass chin. Glass balls? Why don't you go fight Samuel Peter?

No..I feel he dominated a top 3 fighter without any trouble.. Which makes him look pretty good, yeah he couldnt get the knock out, damn he wasnt dumb enough too keep going for it against a counterpuncher who he knew could make him pay if he was off balance.. Ibragimov wasnt exactly taking risks either, but we dont hate on him, hes not ruling the division..

Also, i remember two times when Wlad seemed to hurt Ibragimov and did jump on him, **** one of those times he had Ibragimov sit on the bottom rope to save himself from a knockdown..

Wlads chin isnt exactly the best heh.. But im not sure about his balls..

Read the thread, I'm asking a question and am curious how others feel about Wlad and the myth regarding Wlads glass chin/glass balls, for a supposed elite fighter, he reacts with horror when caught with a significant punch or if a hard one comes wizzing past him.

How was that tune? Once I had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out had a heart of glass, seemed like the real thing, only to find much mistrust, love's gone behind...

I agree, he did what he had to, to win, noone should fault him for that, but his reaction to getting hit is what worries me, I really feel it's been a problem of his since Sanders in 03, it's only been a few times after that a fighter was good enough to take Wlads punches to land there own, guys like Brewster and Peter really did make him panic and question his toughness IMO.

I think its his legs more than his chin... He always gets up, but it doesnt seem he can ever get stable on his feet again, and thats why he always gos back down, maybe it is because he panics though.. But thats just my analysis, could be wrong heh..

Also, part of that could have been so-so stamina from Wlad, which seems to have improved, but that would definetly affect him staying on his feet..

Yes, his stamina was part of the problem 4 years ago, and having balance problems at 6'6 is a given. I just feel that Wlad looks very fearful of getting hit in the ring, and when he does, he seems to panic and become discombobulated all of a sudden, where he will resort to clinching or falling awkwardly around the ring, which comes off to me as being very strange and a obvious problem that has been effecting him since the Sanders match.

Neather... so he doesnt like getting hit, big deal.

you know, if it wasnt for him... we wouldnt even HAVE a unification... it was HIM that got this fight done. props to sultan for being his dance partner as well... but if wlad wasnt a champion, we wouldnt have had unification.

his chin is fine, his balls... lol... are fine.

i know what you mean... but thats just his mindset, dont get hit.

He thinks too much, he is intelligent enough to know he wants to get out of the boxing game unscathed, he has said as much and that he has other things outside the ring he wants to do. Therefore he isnt committed to the fight in the way the fans want or expect him to be.

  15. Both-For being 6-6 and 240 lbs he fight's like a Wuss slapping with his left, and scared to get hit by a 215lb guy without power..
It's only a matter of time before someone breaks that glass chin again, i wish he and Peter would fight again, Peter would drop him for good next time..
