All great answers, especially TFFP, Magnificant Matt, and barneyrub, there probably the most logical reasons why Wlad has the problems he does in the ring, I would just like to know if he started fighting this way after Sanders, or did it just take Sanders to bring it out in him?

worst WALD hater ever! that lineage argument making maskaev the legit champ is bull**** too. dude thinks lennox is perfect and wlad is ****. :yep

he will always be methodical and calculating. wlad just needs more confidence. that will only come with more time and success. he's never gonna be a killer like tyson or aggressive as lennox become but he can certainly develop into a great fighter in his own right.

about being ruined or wlad's paper mache chin? :yep

I admire Wlads ambition to unify the belts, i think thats the honourable thing to do and something boxing needs. We should always have ONE heavyweight champ.

However, when I watch him fight I do see fear. He is fearful and tentative until he gets tagged and sometimes if he gets stagged a lil bit hard that fear turns to panic. Eyes tell your oponent everything he needs to know. Take a look a look at his eyes when he boxes.

i dont think he is a sensational heavyweight, he has great natural advantages and good grounded technique which stemmed from a good amatuer background, but I do think he has taken advantage for the most part of a very shallow top 10 which is a very light punching heavyweight division when compared with division we had in the 90s.

I think Vitali had the same problem when boxing, in that he disliked getting hit, but worse than that was fearful of it. Check VKs fight with Corrie Sanders and you will see what I mean. Eyes tell you everything!

Wlad though at this time is the best heavyweight out there. Nowhere near undisputed, he has Peter/Maskaev and Chagaev to overcome first but definately the best.

I didnt know Barneyrub was Wlad hater, his response seemed very logical. My avatar bet with Boxing Guru is officially over, I fear if I win he wont sport the avatar I choose for him, plus he's ignorant *****, I want nothing to do with him. I will keep my bet with you if you would like, how long do you have to sport that nice avatar you have now?:D

who the hell likes getting hit :nut

this fear crap is lame. what boxer isnt afraid?!? he just needs to be more confidence.

as for not being close to be called "champ". that's garbage too. look at wlad's recent body of work. 8 straight wins, 5kos, 5 of last 6 against top 10 hws, 4 undefeated fighters, unified.

haye has 1 good win against glass jaw mormeck who usually gasses by the 3rd round yet he's considered the champ. put haye in there with wlad, then you'll see fear :yep

dude has some bull**** lineage explanation that makes the wbc titlist the true champ. Yeah maskaev and his 1 defense against peter ohkello. what a great champ. get that **** out of here!

i will keep my bet with you, but i have to sport waldo avatars for the next three months. so after i serve those terms and can sport yours :nod

He shows that he is fearful of getting hit, no boxer should be scared of punches, but Wlad is!

Although this thread has nothing to do with David Haye, i have said nothing about Haye that I dont beleive nor anything that isnt true. I can admit he weaknesses aswel as his strengths. A fight with Haye in will always be a good watch, while a fight with Wlad in rarely is. If the heavyweight division needs anything its fighters like David Haye.

You may consider Klitschko 'the Champ', all im saying is that he is the best there is right now, he is not 'the Champ' in my eyes. David Haye on the other hand holds the Linear title, make of that what you will...

I'm not comfortable using the term "glass" to describe his chin . . . because nobody reaches the top spot if you have a real "glass" chin, but certainly that is his weak point.

Glass balls? Confidence is his problem not his balls.

What kind of a moron wouldn't be anxious about being hit solidly by
a top 10 heavyweight boxer? Wlad showed on Saturday that his defense
is superb for a man his size. At one point in the fight he had Iggy
missing his BODY not just his chin. I haven't seen D like that since
Pernell Whitaker made Greg Haugen miss his entire body time and time again.
He's just a proud boxer who wants to make his opponents as ineffective
as he can will battering them from the outside. His style change from
the Saunders fight is a reflection of Steward's training and teaching.
His chin is average because he keeps getting up when tagged by
powerpunchers. Average punchers don't faze Wlad at all. Wlad was
a little rusty last Saturday and respected Sultan's boxing ability
probably a little too much. Watch him spark the giant Thompson next.

:good exactly! if you're not afraid when you put your life on the line like that, that's insane.

ali said he was terrified of liston in their first match, yet no one could tell by his performance.

Kobe is God - I hear what your saying, but I also here where he's coming from as well, I'm sure he was trying to explain the lineage to it, by saying since Lewis held the WBC title and was the last unified champ, the belt still carries the weight and prestige to it, I cant fully agree with that myself. Aside from Sultan, I always felt Maskaev was the weakest title holder, and there is no way that Peter will be considered the so-called real champ if in fact beats Maskaev, though I'm still convinced a true champ of the division has not emerged yet, not even Wlad anymore IMO.

Exactly, just like my old trainer told me, "Everyones afraid when they step in the ring, it's what you do with that fear, is what seperates you from your oppenent", the best fighters overcome hardships, the one's who are mentally weak falter at the hands of adversity, Wlad has been shown to falter more than overcome it seems.

:rofl come on dude! lol. hesitant yes...terrified no friggin way! he dominated iggy every second of the match. more like iggy was the one scared shitless of wlad's right hand.

iggy was leaning backwards making himself small. he was very hard to reach. that had a larger role imo
