Im sure another loss to Fury and another 8 figure pay day and he can ride off into the Miami sunset and many years of ploughing Hayden Pantierre ahead of him.

Even if he wins the rematch, I think retirement might beckon. He'll be almost 40 by then

I wouldn't be rash and fire Banks, have a good think first and work out what went wrong and if it can be rectified or not.

It was quite the lackluster performance by both fighters.

I think Wlad needs a new trainer. I don't think their strategy worked (same old like any other fighter).

I also think Wlad needs to learn how to beat a style like Fury's by:

    1) Obviously needs to open up and throw more punches (combos).
    2) Not do that amateur thing where he (or his opponent) get spun around and he casually walks out of it because he thinks the ref has stopped action. THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL FIGHT, he needs to be much more alert and have some killer instinct and want to punch his opponent until the guy is knocked out.
    3) Fury is not some big puncher, Wlad needs to be much more aggressive especially when he had him in the corners.

Agreed. But the fact that there wasn't any meaningful coaching or criticism, or urgency earlier in the fight is concerning. Don't get me wrong, the trainer can only lead the horse to water, and Wlad was unwilling to engage despite Banks' efforts. I still think there should have been earlier, and more urgent, corner advice. The rounds just kept ticking by, and no measurable adjustments were made.

What do you see Roach doing with Wlad, exactly?

No. Vlad wouldn't be able to beat Tyson Fury even if he fought him 5 times in his prime.

Vlad has learned so much from Emanuel Steward and Vitali Klitschko that he doesn't really have much more to learn. Vlad is robotic and you can't teach a robot to be slick.

This is as far as a fighter like Vlad can go. He's had a great run at the top of the HW division. He should fight Fury in a rematch for a few more million dollars and then retire.

He doesn't have the chin to be a Roach style attacker. Wlad was able to stay champion for so long precisely because he protected his fragile chin by any means necessary. Wlad opened up more earlier in his career and got stopped 3 times and battered by Peter another time.

But he beat Peter both times.

Wlads chin isn't the problem the problem is his mentality when he gets tagged. He's not a natural fighter in the way Vitali is, he's a great boxer and athlete but he has the Mentality of a sportsman as opposed to a fighter.

He needs to train with Curtis Steven's uncle in Brooklyn if he is serious about resurrecting his career

Wlad needs to bring Fritz back for the rematch and see if he can ignite the old fire once again
