All those saying no are wrong. We are not debating the fact they are not as good as men but they are equally as brave.I respect every boxer who steps into the ring regardless of gender and so should you
1. There are less than 2000 active female boxers, there are over 20000 active male boxers. Less competition means more 'top' fights get made. Same with MMA. 2. Because most folks don't give a toss about women's boxing that means they have to make big fights to lure in more attention. 3. The money is alot less in womens boxing so fights are more easily made. Same with MMA. Those are some reasons why top fights are being made more easily in women's boxing than mens. Doesn't mean we should respect it more. Also Shields vs Marshall being the top vs top fight in women's boxing doesn't mean it great. Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul is a better fight than all women's boxing combined. The main audience of boxing is men, just like the main audience of action movies is also men/males. Terminator 1 and 2 will always be the best and that new Terminator with a female Terminator failed miserably for clear reasons people are ignoring. Wonderwoman movie flopped, lesbian Ghostbusters movie failed, female oceans 11/7 movie failed, female action hero movies all fail for clear reasons nothing misogynistic about it. Just like those female action hero movies didn't deserve extra respect same way female boxing doesn't deserve extra respect either man.
The thing is that we try to completely ignore gender differences nowadays. Physical combat is primarily a male thing by nature. Being good at looking good, make up etc is primarily a female thing in pretty much the same way. It doesn't mean there aren't women who can fight or men who can put one helluva make up on their faces. But it is still more of a curiosity/some odd exception here and there. These are just facts and it is ok to state them, nothing sexist about it. Now, regarding boxing, I have moral doubts about it in general (I posted a thread on it recently), and I believe in female boxing case it is even worse - hence the no respect part from me.
I would say 'natural', not outdated. I'm not for violating anybody's freedom of choice or dignity, not for outcasting ANYBODY, very much inclusive in that sense. I just state facts on feminity and masculinity here. A bit provacatively, mind you, but they are facts and you can't refute them.
"Super fights" lol how? It won't make a super fight purse, and of course the female super middle division Shields earned her third division in has literally 20 people.
Before covid super lightweight had like 3,000 active pro male boxers whereas all women's divisions had 1500 combined.
What’s with more respect? It should just be respect. I respect them as fighters but that is where it ends. I have no desire to attend an event or watch it on tv.
When you have a fighter as pathetic as Ebanie Bridges calling herself world champion then I really don't think so lol
