Gus looked sharper than I've ever seen him yesterday. His hands were lightning fast and extremely accurate. Doing that to Glover is no easy task! I'm thinking he comes in against Jones or DC just as sharp and focused and gets the job done this time.

I'd give him a 40-45% chance. Gus is pretty much neck and neck with Cormier and Jones when he fights them. We'll see how Jones looks against Cormier in July though.....

Both DC and Jon Jones are stylistically difficult opponents for Gus. DC can threaten with his wrestling while at the same time box Gus from close range. He also has the chin to survive anything that Gus throws at time while he moves into his preferred range. Jon Jones on the other hand just has a wider arsenal of strikes and also wrestling. While Gus can defend takedowns very good the threat of them forces him to adapt his striking game which limits him. His offensive wrestling can't work against Jones and DC because these two are too slick on the ground.

Once Jon Jones started utilizing his muay thai in the first fight it was all over for Gus and he was in the world of pain and started to fold mentally. If there is ever a rematch Jon Jones will make the necessary adjustments earlier and win more easily, possibly finish Gus inside 3 rounds. Let's not forget that Jones was partying like crazy and barely trained for the first fight.

Not if the judges have anything to say about it.

I would say Gus is actually mentally stronger then both of them. Think about how mentally strong you would have to be to keep training and working towards fights with those guys knowing that the judges are going to go out of their way to NOT give you rounds?

Gus proved he was on their level giving both Jones and DC very tough, close fights. He's a better fighter than Johnson but just couldn't handle the power(the headbutt didn't help either). I actually think he has a better chance of beating Jones than DC due to Jones being so over-reliant on his size/reach advantage.

Gus won their first fight in a lot of people's opinions. And that was pre USADA Jones :D

Yep. I scored it 48-47 Gustafsson and thought he was handily winning rd 4 until being caught with Jones' patented spinning elbow. From there on out Gus fought on pure instinct...

LMAO!!! Right and I guess even though he was "Partying" before the Gus fight (Jones got a gift in that fight by the way) the pre USADA era helped balance things out for Mr 'Hit And Run' huh? How did he look in the OSP fight?? I guess he couldn't hide under a cage to avoid testing huh? ;)

Gus looked sharper than ever against Glover though. And will beat this new Jones in time. DC will be tougher but Gus will defeat him this time around :)

I actually think polls show the majority had Gus winning that fight. But that Gus didn't look as sharp as Sundays. And I bet Jones looks just as bad against DC as he did against OSP :D Just a feeling I have ;)

And Jones only very narrowly beat DC in the 1st fight.... If he's rusty, a bit past it etc. a Cormier upset win wouldn't be remotely shocking.

Jones looked like himself in the OSP fight, people forget that he was boring in his last fights before USADA as well. He did the job done and won all rounds, what more do people expect from him? He turned into a point fighter long before that, watch his fight against Glover for example.

Everyone was on steroids pre-USADA, so his opponents had advantage as well. How did Gus look after USADA? He looked like total crap against some Polish journeyman and had to lay on him to get a decision because he was outstruck. His victory against shot to pieces Glover doesn't impress me either, look what Rumble did to Glover.
