    ...as a pro?

    I don't see it. He's an old, slapping, powder-punching amateur. That won't get it done in the pros. The 22-year-old Mexican kid that just beat Viloria for the title would eat him alive.

    well i'd like to see if there's any difference in his 2nd pro fight. and hopefully it's soon, not another 4 rounder 3 months from now. He could probably fight in less than a month again.

    Clearly he does have a future as a pro, until he loses. It makes no odds whether he has power or not, ask Calzaghe. The question here is how much of the criticism aimed at Shiming at the moment is 'negative hype'? He's 1-0-0. He's got maybe 8 years left to do his thing but being born into hype is a burden as well as a blessing.

    His future is mapped out John.

    All of his fights will be in China, where he will draw huge gates and do massive TV numbers. His opposition will be sub par which won't matter to his adoring public. He is not a Cuban like Rigo, who HAD to move stateside to compete, he is a fighter who will be quite happy to fight inside his national bubble.

    Arum will maneuver him into a title belt, and he will defend four or five times against average opponents.

    Think your opin of JMM is colored by an ax to grind, LBC. Give the man his due. He could always crack...Had highlight-reel KOs over tough, tough guys since he was a blade-thin feather.
