I expect your right (sadly), SJ19...bottom line: As a pro, it's all about the money...'n fighting in the bubble in China, he can make a bundle and be a national hero.
Probably the most watched fighter in history. His lack of power is an issue but look at how dominant Calderon was in his heyday. He seemed a bit wild and I'm not sure arum will give him a shot in 6 months. He's gonna have to go twelve to take the title and conditioning him to that level will take work. But yeah he'll pick up a title and go down as the greatest boxer in Chinese history probably making millions and breaking ppv records on the way. guy is gonna be huge even if his talent won't match the hype. I'll be honest, I'm kinda excited to.see it develop and live through it.
:deal He's having a late start, but his talent level will allow him to get a title shot soon enough IMO. Also, the power will come as he sits down on his punches. I don't think Roach will allow every fight to be in China. He needs to be at the Wild Card, and Shiming will probably insist in fighting in the US eventually as he seems serious about it.
He obviously does, but he's not nearly as pro ready as he should be. His conditioning and footwork and defense need the most work, but he's got talent and is an enormous draw. He also has the best matchmaking in the business. He'll get a world title and a fight against Viloria down the road.
Unfortunately Zou does have a future. A multimillion dollar one. All he has to do is keep getting in the ring. I highly doubt he'll win a title though. He truly sucks and is not fun to watch.
I remembered being very disapointed by Andre Wards' first pro fight, also televised on HBO. Now granted, Ward was much younger, but still, give a guy a second or (gasp) third fight before you say he has no future.
i willl support him and readily admit i'm on his bandwagon. us chinese boxings fans (which i think i'm the only one in the club sometimes) have never had anyone to really get behind. for years nonito, pac, viloiria and other fighters from the pacific rim are people we've been borrowing. never felt a connection with yao ming, li na or any other chinese athelete because boxing is the only sport i really follow. enjoy nfl but i doubt there will be any one chinese playing in it for a while.
If he did some serious strength training and settled down a bit in the ring he could at least have respectable power. 31 is a bit old to get started though.
Don't be such a bitter ****, JMM had a bigger KO% even when Pac was on PEDS. JMM>>>PAC get on with your life.
