Doesn't it take more effort for a fighter to stand up from their stool, then it would just to stand?

    Stand between rounds I mean...

People used to rag on George Foreman for standing between rounds, but I totally get where he's coming from .

It takes a lot of effort, especially on the legs, and especially for bigger fighters like that to get up from sitting down on their buts ...

I really don't know why more fighters don't stand between rounds, or if anything use taller stools, like a bar stools, those are alot less effort to stand up from them those ones they use now that are like the ones my kids stand on to brush their teeth in the mirror..

    Seems pretty obvious to me

I remember Jirov would stand between rounds. An issue was when he got hurt towards the end of the fight with Toney I believe they made him sit down, which gives a signal to the other corner the guy is in trouble

That is a good point. I would say no since standing takes more energy than a second of rising on your feet, and a person could put their hands on their knees to help themselves up.. When Ray fought Duran in 1989, didn't Pepe Correa help him up? That was the night they put a blanket over Ray between rounds.
