Does it? Consider it took him two fights, a gift decision & low blows to beat him At 160 Canelo has a 0% KO ratio.. men like ancient Cotto went 12 with him.. At 154 he's something like 11-6 in terms of KOs versus decision wins.. men like Lara went 12.. Yet apparently he's too strong for LHW Kovalev Wtf did I just see?! Genuine question..
If thats the case it must mean pbf is the GOAT, since a 36 year old faded pbf in his 5th weightclass the same age as kovalev is btw, schooled canelo easily and ggg and kovalev both lost to him.
Kovalev was still concussed from his fight with Yarde. This makes it much easier to get concussed again. Had Kovalev fought someone like Beterbiev last night it may have resulted in another boxing death. It's called second impact syndrome.
Canelo ended up beating a faded Kovalev after being behind while Ward twice beat prime Kovalev whether you agree or like the decisions or not.
If you put the Kovalev from last night in against either version of Ward who fought Kovalev, he wouldn't win a single round. Nothing away from Canelo who stuck to a nice power-counter plan and KHTFO, but there was a big difference between 2016 Kovalev and 2019 Kovalev. The legs, athleticism, snap, timing, durability, and confidence aren't what they once were. Ward said it best: he's Sergey Kovalev, not the Krusher.
Kova is beyond shot. No power, no right hand. I still don't understand Buddy's fight plan outside the possibility that what we saw was all Buddy had to work with, and he knew it.
@Pimp C Consider that you have called MW 'weak', Golovkins resume 'trash' & that in fantasy matchups u pretty much have him losing to any of the consensus great MWs.. then how does beating a guy who got a draw* & a SD* with an ageing version of that guy (aided by PEDS) & years after the Floyd fight (when he was way more experienced) make Floyd the GOAT? Do tell.. you've either changed your mind on GGG or you have set the bar (going by YOUR past posts on GG) incredibly low for Floyd..
