Greg Page won "A" title.. Not "THE" title. It's true he never got his shot against Holmes but its not like he was doing a whole lot to impress either. From 1982-1987, he lost some 7 fights and a few of which to mediocre fighters. He was decent for a brief period of about a year and a half when he had some good showings. But he simply didn't last. Personally, I think the concept of Holmes ducking him is what gives him more prestige than anything he actually did in the ring. And David Bey was a journeyman level fighter.

No, that was a close/disputed decision.
Tubbs and Witherspoon had already beat Smith far more convincingly.

I believe Marvis was decked once or twice in that fight if I'm not mistaken.

True.....but after 1985, any version of Greg Page was shot. And Bey was definitely a journeyman level fighter.Though, he did stop George Chaplin, IIRC.

Agreed. Snipes would be fascinating against Dokes tho, he was a stange man LOL.

Pages win over Snipes was on of his best couple of performances ever. Snipes was on top of his game after a great win over Berbick and a good showing just prior vs Tim. Dokes wouldn't be able to box Snipes quite as well as Page did and would have to trade a bit.

Dokes had loads of talent tho, his fight post prime against Holyfield gives an insight into how much ability he wasted away.

IMO Snipes would be reticent to trade with Dokes and Dokes would be the aggressor.
