Glenn Kelly got schooled by an ATG and reigning world champion in Roy Jones Jnr.

But when did Kelly fight for a vacant world title, win it and then lose it first defence, as per the question raised by the thread originator?

No disrespect to Robbie peden because nothing came easy in his career but he won a vacant title and attempted to unify and came short. That's not the best example because he fought an ATG

Point taken Stiffy. I was only thinking of Aussie boxers who won titles and lost it soon after. Forgot the "domestic fighter" side of the question :good

Correct, Asiku took a beating from Jhonny gonzalez in the US. Good example.
