Not only did Atlas train Kirk Johnson, he predicted that Kirk Johnson would knock Vitali out with one big punch on FNF! Atlas' extreme hatred for Klitschkos is legendary. Atlas was not in Johnson's corner for that fight though.

Wow, how did Atlas let Johnson come in so fat? That's all I remember about that fight. I guess this is why Atlas stopped training for a while after that embarrassment?

Oh, and if Teddy was always right the klitschko's would be 0-30 all 30 by KO loss.

    Vlad is boxing 101!!!!!!!

Vitali mixes his styles, Euro boxing, kickboxing, and American, he fights tall and it works. Vitali was a six time world kickboxing champion superheavyweight division both pro and amateur. Vitali used to fight a kick boxing fight and then go fight a boxing fight!!!!!!! You should take a look at him on tape kickboxing. He was awesome. Vitali also won International amateur championships, World military champion, etc., would have won gold medal but had foot injury, was given bad medicine by an MD, a type of steroid, not anabolic though it was for foot injury. Mistake was going to regular MD instead of sports medicine specialist. Whatever, he loves to fight.

I agree. I think Vitali actually likes fighting more than his brother even though they are both very talented. Not meaning to start an argument, just a thought I've had.

The comparing of opponents in this story at first do look silly as we've grown to love all the names in the Lewis era (to a degree) but I think it makes a point, this era would probably be somewhat competitive with them. Although that might be the biggest stretch of the story. I don't know, I like it.

Don't you think a guy like Teddy Atlas or Bert Sugar who criticizes the K2 brothers are doins so because they love Boxing and they understand that the Heayweight division is boxing glamour division and that they understand that the reason the heavyweight division is in the tank right now is because of the K2 brothers boring dominance. I think their so called hatred for the K2 brothers has more to do with their love for boxing than thier hatred for K2 brothers.

    The Klitschkos are boring ?

    Thats your bad my friend.

This is Boxing, and they will do anything to win a fight. If its sticking up their jab in your face the whole night for all 12 rounds, they will do it.

It's not so much the jabbing but the holding that is problematic. It's not fair because Klitschko is using his size to tie up and wear down his opponents during the clinches, rather than wearing them down with punches. We will see more of this in the Peter fight...Wlad's style was ugly as hell and awkward in Peter-Klit I...in Peter-Klit II we are likely to see a perfected style and total domination of Pter.

Pre-Steward, Wlad's style wasn't all that bad....he threw alot of combinations and used the right hand. Now its almost unwatchable. What we need is a big guy that can box like Lewis who can go toe to toe with Wlad and perhaps use his own tactics against him. Wlad is going to keep dominating the smaller guys.

I don't know who your are referring to with the your bad comment but I think it is deeper than just if you don't like the K2 brothers style the get over it. HBO just recently dropped the Heavyweight Division and some of the reason (actually most of the reason) is the K2 brothers being boring. This is about more than just love the K2 brothers the way they are or watch something else. Boxing needs the Heayweight Division to be good and as long as they have boring champs like the K2 brothers then it won't be even if we get the fight everyone is wanting which is David Haye vs. a K2 brother Haye will still have to approach that fight in much the same way he did the Valuev fight and the fight will be boring unless one of the K2 brothers opens up and risk getting caught by a Hayemaker. The only other way for them to have their style but still be interesting would be in the Floyd Mayweather mold unexciting fighting style but have the personality to be the biggest star in the sport.

And it looked as if finally a decent challenger was going for the K Bros (Haye) but then he backed out of one fight and is now probably going to fight Audrey!

The "Haye is a decent challenger" bit is a load of hype. Haye is a good looking former cruiser champ with a nice watchable style, but he has no hope against Wlad. The Klits believed they could make a lot of money by helping to hype this guy and in all liklihood in the near future they will. Same for Adamek. There's just no reason to think of Haye as the #3 heavyweight....outrunning a past-it Valuev proved nothing really.

The last challenge to Wlad who had hope on paper was Tony Thompson. Peter is maybe the next best thing.

+1 here. What's on display in a Klitschko fight is unbeatability. It's a piece of history and won't last forever.

Can't cotton HBO's decision. I support the K2 and HW boxing.

The era is not perfect but it's still the #1 game in town for my money.

So why dont HBO picks up the super-excting David Haye and airs his fights if the Klitschkos are so boring?

Who says they wouldn't if the match-up was right? Haye is perfect for HBO or Showtime.
