Yamanaka is another, he liked to paw his jab as a range-finder to set up his booming straight left and find his range. He didn't use his jab much as a weapon in and of itself but instead used it in service of that brutal left hand of his. Adonis Stevenson was quite similar, largely focused on landing big left hands with the rest of his offensive arsenal built around that, including the jab.

Canelo has a beautiful jab but frequently underutilises it.

All excellent mentions. Rigo especially, he was much of a straight left, right hook type of southpaw.

"He who rules with his left, rules the world" is an awesome quote highlighting the importance of the jab. So many great champions had good jabs: Ali, Robinson, Holmes, Mayweather, Whitaker, etc.

The jab is the foundation for so many styles and helps a boxer with so many situations: range finding, setting up combinations, keeping a guy at bay, countering, scoring points, etc. It wouldn't be inaccurate to say it's arguably the most important punch in the sport.

But were there any dominant champions who had bad or straight up terrible jabs...???
