Good start for him in the U.S but he wasnt exactly fighting anyone of note and why was it only 6 rounds.
What, they have signed the kid to a multi-year, multi-fight contract and you think they were going to throw him in with someone of 'note' as you call it? He won, it's a step for him to experience being on a good show and it's a 6-rounder because that's all the show could probably fit in properly, in relation to their scheduling. They did have 2 x 12 rounders with Bradley and Vic which obviously eat up a lot of the programming. Good on Lenny and hopefully the start of a good international career.
Yeah I think GS has him on a multi fight deal in the states......I hope Zappa kicks ass :good Congratz to Ray. K for helping getting Zappa in condition :good
I'm not bagging the kid. He is one of my favourite fighters but I dont think its too early for him to be fighting guys better than a guy who has only won 1 of his last 10 fights. Look at the guy Will Tomlinson fought the other week, thats the kind of opposition I'd like to see Zappa fighting. I guess all in good time though.
Thanks mate, but Lenny is an easy bloke to work with. He's the ultimate professional. The kind of guy that really deserves these opportunities. I haven't got to see the fight yet as I've been in the country running a weekend program with Kariz and Junior. Looking forward to getting a look at it tonight!
Just got a txt from Billy H. Zappa weighed 62kg and Sergio was 67kg! Hard to get a ko with that disparity. Won easy he said.
i was looking for some footage of his fight and found this...dunno if its been posted before. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpWpzFPkiHI[/ame]
still positives in sparring someone bigger. Mundine's speed and Zappa gets something out of sparring someone taller than him as well. Vic has to spar lightweights and jnr welters, even heavier guys. It's not by design as their aren't any guys his weight to spar with but it certainly hasn't hurt Vic too much.
