Chico's style allowed Mayweather to pick holes in him and he still came forward , ala Mayweather forced the stoppage through technical superiority , just like he did against Hatton Baldomir and Judah did not :hi:
atsch **** sake. Honestly man, I think you're a ****ing tool to be honest. You think I don't know that you don't walk into your 1st day of BJJ and learn how to perform a flying gogoplata? Get lost man.
Exactly my point And im telling you ............. that you dont learn to submit people in JJ before you can even hold a decent position And you dont have to answer me mate , any dick head can sit there throwin insults around , and many people including you can talk **** about something they dont understand , which is exactly what your doing :deal
I think the Veach fight was impressive simply because Edgar was at a huge weight disadvantage and was still able to drop and submit Veach. You didn't think the Sherk fight was impressive? He outboxed Sherk, stuffed his takedowns, and nearly had him out with a guillotine in the third. And how can you not be impressed by the Maynard fight? He rocked Maynard several times, put him in trouble with a guillotine, and even delivered a huge slam all after nearly getting stopped in the first. You are a tough one to please Popkins.
No BJ Penn? You have Shogun in there, Machida in there but no Penn? Penn is the only person on that list (besides Silva) who has proved he can move up a weightclass and be effective. He lost a stylistic bad fight against Edgar (I scored the 1st for him), and then moved up and KO'd a top ten fighter and then had a draw with the #2 WW Fitch, who outweighed him by like 15lbs. Shogun has lost to Forrest and Jones at his own natural weight. Machida has lost to Shogun and Rampage at his own natural weight.
Wow. Telling me something I knew when I was about 12. Brilliant, brilliant point thewinfella. :happy:happy:happy Whereas you are a BJJ Zen Master, that much is obvious from your superb and not at all patently obvious posts on the subject. :happy:happy:happy
Penn's last 4 fights L - L - W - D He's won one of his last 4 fights , and was battered in his last fight , yes i agree and i grant you Penn did look pretty spectacular rounds 1 to 2 especially round 1 against Fitch , but i dont see who Penn ranks above looking at the list , im not of the opinion you can rank him because he's BJ Penn Shogun was off the back of two pretty special displays against Machida and was beaten by a phenom , for me , and my opinion , Shogun is still a high P4P ranked fighter Machida , pretty much the same , lost a bit of a shocker against Rampage , and a decisive stoppage against Randy , stoppages of Evans and Thiago Silva amidst two losses to the superb Shogun Again its just my opinions mate , i do tend to see the P4P rankings a bit differently to most , but my original point was where i rank Dominic Cruz
Go and by a Gi brother , and get some technque under your belt , then you'll probably learn that you cant finish fights from your back using a Muay Thai mindset :good
Go and wipe the drool off your chin, and maybe one day someone will explain to you that with (and I quote) "serious time and effort" a kickboxer can learn how to execute BJJ submissions from his back. atsch
I think you continue to misunderstand my point. So, so many times on this thread I have said I think Edgar is a superb fighter. I really don't know how much clearer I can be about that. I simply do not care for his style, because I believe he trains and strategizes and fights to win decisions. I have observed these tactics in more of his fights than I have not observed them. That's why I'm not a fan. Frankie only became aggressive in the Maynard rematch because he knew Maynard took the opener by a couple of points. When Edgar is the one in control, he usually shows no appetite to finish the fight, just content to pitty-pat, score a couple of TDs, and wait for the UD to be announced. I will never question his effectiveness. He's great at what he does. I just don't like what he does. That's my sensibility as a fighter and as a fan of combat sports.
Ofcourse he can you ****in idiot !!!!! Dont talk **** about a discipline you know very little about ................
I understand your point, I just don't agree with it. You keep saying Edgar doesn't attempt to finish fights despite me listing occasions where he has in fact attempted to finish fights (even in fights where he was ahead on the scorecard). Now you can continue to brush off my examples or explain them away with silly explanations like "Edgar only becomes aggressive when hes behind on points", just know that your argument is based far more in fiction than fact.
