Reading comprehension. I said fear of death, not that they should fight to the death. The towel stoppage was premature. Also funny about the concern trolling about his life in this thread pretending to care.
Brook was being a warrior. Of course he going to say that. If he felt it was getting too much he would've took a knee. That clearly wasn't going to happen and plenty of times refs have let it go on too long because it's a championship match. But look at it from this point of view, Golovkin had already broken one side of his face, was piling the pressure on, had Brook pinned against the ropes and to top it off Brook was not firing back. Brook would happily go out on his shield, plenty of fighters have happily gone out on their shields. But a lot of them same fighters also went to hospital with severe and potentially life threatening injuries. The corner is there to protect their fighter. Pulling him out gave him a loss yes but isn't that far better than a coma, eye lose or even worse?
Oscar saved Canelo's life by making him vacate a world title. What is your point? Do you even have one?
Just got in. Watched the fight with my mates in the pub. They were outraged by what they thought was a premature stoppage but don't think any of them had seen Golovkin fight before. Dominic Ingle was entirely in the right. The fans in the arena who booed him are a disgrace. My already high level of respect for Brook has multiplied tenfold but he didn't stand a chance. The right call from the corner at the right time. Kell could've got seriously hurt there. He might be badly injured anyway. Hope the suspected orbital bone fracture doesn't affect his career too much. Great fight for as long as it lasted but there was only one winner.
