I support his 'recognicion'. It's like recognising him but better as you never bothered with literacy. A toast to Don Tharles!

Don Charles always come across as a honest decent guy but for me trainers like fighters have levels. I think he is a good British level trainer but I don't see any evidence that he is particularly Innovative or in any way exceptional. McGuigan, on the other hand, is a very good trainer. How many fighters have improved after they have left him? Why do we expect Dubois to be any different? I give him a marginally better chance against Usyk with McGuigan in camp. If the rumours about the circumstances of the break are true, than Dubois needs to grow up. He is 25, old enough to make his own decisons. Don't just swap trainers becuase your father says so.

Yes but Mcguigan and his fighters only seem to have short term success and he doesn’t have many long term fighters before parting ways and falling out

You can’t knock his credentials as a trainer he did well with Chisora and has a great knowledge of heavyweights at all levels

You have to wonder whether ex army jim's posts make perfect sense to him when he reads them. Or maybe he just has no shame?

Dubois looks transformed to me. He's speaking confidently and projecting himself. Maybe Charles' style is just what he needed to come out of his shell.

A lot of Mcguigan issues stem from his dad trying to get his hands in fighters pockets. If you can keep his dad away and insure it's strictly a boxer/trainer relationship (keep the financials compeletely seperate) he is excellent. Mcguigan Jr would do well to keep family and business seperate. As for Charles he done OK with Chisora. He seems quite good at managing Chisora volatile personality. I suspect he is a nicer bloke than Mcguigan and easier to get along with. That said, Chisora just adopted a fairly standard pressure fighter sytle under him, no bells or whistles. Does not prove he is a great trainer. Nothing against Charles personally but you cannot say he succeded with heavyweights 'at all levels' as none of his fighters have ever won (or really even came close to) a world title. The orginal post said 'fantastic' which I take to mean world class. Ok prime Chisora was fringe world level (there was always a few fighters you back to beat him) but to call a trainer world class you have to identify a world class fighter he has trained/developed. You cannot do this with Charles. So for me he a good British level trainer. Nothing more, nothing less.

Think that post could come back to bite you there I’m afraid bud. This is going to be a one sided beatdown with poor Daniel getting out boxed, busted up and most likely stopped or losing widely on the cards. Either way it won’t be a good night for him. Wish him luck though.

I've always liked Don Charles. He comes across well and is quite articulate. As already mentioned here, did well with Chisora. I was most surprised about his son George Fox, remember seeing him lose at York Hall. Good luck to Don Charles and Dubois on Saturday.

If only if was that simple eh Jim? For a big man Uysk probably has the best head movement since a prime, early 20s Tyson. DDD won’t be hitting him with much and he will be exhausted by about the 8th round.

There is always a falling out. But he is a good coach. A very good one. Look at the before and after with Okolie and Taylor.
