I hope he does it though.....

  2. If Chisora had better feet and a bit more power I'd fancy him to do the job.

He can slip punches quite well, Vitali doesn't have the fastest hands and nor is he particularly accurate.

It's easy enough to make him look **** these days but a different job entirely actually doing something with him and getting across the line.

Realistically you've got to get him moving, get in, get your shots off and get out. Del probably can't get out.

From a certain point of view, yes, it should be very easy indeed for Chisora.
Certainly an uncomplicated path from the start of the fight to the end of it.

I think Chisora will have a bit of success early on, his head movement is decent enough to be able to get past the jab and land some shots, I do think however that after a few rounds Vitali will start to time him with the right hand as he tries to come inside, finding his rhythm, slowly breaking him down and eventually stopping him.

    Hope Im wrong though.

I've looked back at two fights of Vitali (Arreola & Solis), Both guys of a similar size but adopted completely different gameplans. Arreola's plan was to rush Vitali press him and force him into a war. Early on he affected Vitali's posture and rhythm but by second round Vitali started to have success and thus took the fight.

I believe Arreola led to that downfall with a lack of head movement and poor conditioning. He wasn't able to continue the pressure that he started early in round 1. In saying that he did have success with his punches which many haven't and did put up a spirited display but Solis came with a more considered and smarter gameplan IMO. He asked Vitali to come to him, would draw the lead of him and counter. He started at long range by halfstepping back behind a full guard and raiding with sharp one punch counters or punches in bunches.

Sadly for Solis the rest was history right at end of round, but that brief cameo did show that Vitali can be hit with some form of regularity. Now for me the Brothers are all about control they like to control you from signing contract to build up to fight. They like to settle into a early rhythm and then dissect you behind there formidable jabs.

If i was Don Charles i'd want Dereck to starve Vitali of early success, unsettle him and break his rhythm. How can he do that?. Well it's a massive ask for someone who's still a novice in pro terms but for me Dereck has to mix it tomorrow night. There's times when he will need to box and consider the 12 round duration. There will also be times when he needs to test the body of Vitali as well as the wear and tear facially.

Dereck has to get to centre ring early, from there i believe he mustn't fall into trap that many have where they box central (inside left hand) against Vitali. He's got to work from angles and when angles aren't there step off. Stay on outside of left hand, fight compact and behind full guard. He may also be able to over compensate that area and fight with higher hands due to Vitali not being a aggressive body puncher like Fury was.

Solis was very good at drawing leads of Vitali through feinting, Dereck's never really shown subtle skills like that but even if he does basic feints he'll be doing a lot better then 99% of fighters who've taken on Vitali in recent years. Dereck must fight with brain as well as heart.

The double jab of Arreola had a fair bit of success early, Why? Vitali backs up in straight line so if the first misses you got the insurance policy coming with it. Arreola's problem was he didn't back it up with a right hand. Chisora's not bad at punching on the move he's actually one of only Brits right now who is willing to let punches go without being rooted to canvas for balance.

Vitali often rolls onto right hand due to him liking to circle towards your right. Vitali has a big body to target and doesn't particularly defend it that well so for Dereck he can look to land to body.

Chisora can do some of those things listed, he's also a tough kid. I believe he will give a fair showing of himself. I do worry however that he's looking to go to war which is all well and good but in war you need to have your wits about you. I'd rather a Solis mentality to war then Arreola who didn't use any feints, no angles and fell into trap.

I've gone for Vitali via UD, but Dereck will make it one of more entertaining fights for a while. Competitive till later stages with Delboy having good rounds and shares of success but maybe not doing enough spectacular work to win judges nod.

for me anything could happen...except - chisora stopping vitali...anyone who knows anything about either boxer should no theres no way that could happen...chisora hasnt got the guns for that at all......but, he has got skills and if he's busier round after round he could maybe, just maybe, get a points win.....but, good as chisora is at taking it, he'll never have taken anything like vitali can hit him with so a lot of unknowns for me...wouldnt be surprised if vitali stopped him in a round....anything could happen except chisora stopping vitali...what makes it a very interesting fight i think

Call me crazy but I am picking chiisora and have had a smalll bet on him.

He is catching vitali at the right time and has the style to get the job done.

The head movement and constant pressure will cash vitali some problems. Cuts are a big possibility. Vitali was out on his feet after 6 rounds of pressure from lewis and I think chisora will make him work just as hard. I think it will be a war though and chisora will land plenty. The more I envisage the fight the more I see chisora doing well.

I feel he will pose a threat, I just hope his tactics are well thought out. He's got a chance a small one but wouldn't begrudge anyone putting few quid on him.

Agree with a lot of that but I still think people are overlooking Vitali's power. To make Vitali work for 6 rounds Chisora is very likely to get caught flush, at least once, that's the key for me, that Del doesn't wilt after swallowing one big right hand

Vitalis power is a strange thing to quantify though. sometimes he looks like a concussive puncher. other times he looks like an accumulative arm puncher.

One thing is sure, Del Boy will have to take right hands regularly if he is going to win the fight. In fairness to Lewis, he took quite a few big right hands flush on the chin, including a clean shot with maximum power in round 2. Lewis responded by smiling. I think Chisora will have the chin to take Vitalis shots for a few rounds. Say what you want about Helenius but one thing he is, is a pretty solid puncher and his best shots didn't put Chisora down.

I get the feeling we are in for a very good action fight, probably the most action in a heavyweight fight since Lewis vs vitali
