I think style-wise its Leonards to lose. His better mobility and variety would be the keys, he'd have to be careful though...
i love comparing fighters from different era's, and reading how everyone see's it from their point...... as a PBF fan id love to say floyd wins this but it would be very tough, points for me but i dont know which way...... wonder how they would both set up for the rematch if it did go the 12?
do you know how good prime curry was at 147, he was a beast, theres allot of fighters who would have been soundly beat by him at that weight, curry, i think curry had as much skill and far more power then mayweather, mayweathers has never fought any1 legitimate at 147, shane mosely badly rocked him, curry had more power and more skill then mosely, he'd really give floyd nightmares
Galivan-Curry is a toss up for me I think Curry is that good at his best I don't think Duran did well against defensive movers, just look at the Benitez/Leonard 2/Laing fights, supposedly Duran didn't train for those and suddendly became past it after his career best peformance but that's just an excuse as far as I'm concerned As for Armstrong he was a 133-140lb 5'3 man and as far as I'm concerned FMJ is better than anyone he beat anyway As an FMJ nutthugger I'd concede that a bad match up for him, Mayweather likes to fight tall against a taller man, a man who's great at mid/close range, touch match up, I'd certainly edge towards Galivan Leonard was the inferior technical boxer against Hearns (partly reach), Benitez, Mayweather Sr, his speed, athleticism and heart saw him beat those men. Curry probably wins the early rounds and maybe builds up a lead, but Leonard drags him into a fight late to score the stoppage win
Have I missed summat PP? Bullet or no bullet, Floyd Sr was not a top talent was he? Roger mixed in the better class.
Curry was could but I don't think he could pick off Floyds potshots and would possibly lose a close decision.
Did you see the Leonard-Mayweather fight? I'd recommend it. I think FMS was a very good talent in a great era. If you put him in with a Benitez, Cuevas, Palermino he might have pulled something out. (I'm thinking the Benitez-Bruce Curry fight here)
