DON KING getting dissed by Ali, Foreman & Tyson

The day Don King dies I will write an honest eulogy.

When Muhammad Ali was (sadly) fought Trevor Berbick for his last fight, Don King claimed to have options on Berbick and went down to the Bahamas the week of the fight to demand compensation ($100K or $200K depending on your source) with a threat to try to get an injunction to halt Berbick participating if he wasn’t paid.

The promoter was a Nation of Islam guy. King went to his hotel room to demand his money and was greeted by three or four — thugs, bodyguards, choose your description) — who proceeded to beat him up. King left with his tail between his legs and when he got to Florida told the press about the assault.

Reporters in the Bahamas told Ali about King being jumped by a group of guys, to get Ali’s reaction. Having dealt with King and knowing how many fighters had had problems with him, Ali grinned and asked:

“Was one of them Berbick?”

 

If I remember correctly, Berbick did punch King in the face before correct?

 

Hard to say. Trevor probably punched a lot of people.

But he had no defense for the Larry Holmes dropkick.

 

I keep telling you guys Larry had the most under rated dropkick in boxing history.

I love the fact that King's empire crumbled around him, while his arch rival, Arum, is still a powerful figure in the game.
That must hurt.

Still not justice though, for the dozens and dozens of fighters this wanker ripped off, scammed, leached off, double crossed etc. A vile, vile man.

Damn good promoter though.

Exactly right.
People sometimes celebrate success for its own sake-sometimes an illusion bought with crimes, bankruptcies, endless corruption & criminality disguising complete incompetence...But I shall stay away from politics here lol...

...Regardless of the damage to the Common Good, Social Fabric, or innocent parties harmed or Destroyed.
King is a classic Sociopath.
He cares for nobody or nothing but himself & getting what he desires.
The kind of person who would kill (in this case, maybe a couple more times) IF they both wanted to, & could avoid the consequences.

There is no Cmpassion nor hint of a Conscience in anyone like Don King.
