King had one questionable issue with the heavyweight title, with that being the Byrd/Lewis issue. But other than that if it were not for Kingm there would be no HW showcases, no middleweight tournaments- which is old school that would never go out of style- and certainly no title eliminators that actually get you a title shot!

Sure King was a nasty businessman, but he made boxing as much as Ali, Tyson, Leonard, Duran, Mayweather and DLH made boxing over the last 50 years!

Nope all he did was hurt it.

Selling food to the starving is easy, selling it to the full is hard.

Don King can't sell **** these days, proof he is worthless.

Don King still puts on better cards than any other promotor in the business.

... there ya go. He is responsible for countless of cards. When he was the only game in town we had memories that lasted... now since the "other guys" have gotten prominence, we are getting fighter of yesteryear fight for much less money at 60 years of age!

Don King was the best fight promoter and still is the best fight promoter!

People can say what they want, but with the way promotion works nowadays in boxing, the sport misses a younger Don King!

Before he ended up in any court wars with any fighters, Don King MADE them millions, and in the process made some of the most memorable fights in the sports history. What happened afterwards was Kings way of making his extra bit of money, not saying its right, but he did what he had to do

King was a scourge on this sport, he prevented as many fights as made them, and ripped all sorts of fighters off. He's scum, through and through - a parasite on the sport of boxing.

Parasites don't make the their hosts healthier, stronger, and bigger.

For all Don King's faults towards individual boxers, the sport was in better shape when he was the big fish, Arum, golden boy, and Shaw can't carry King's jock strap.

arum in the 90's and 80's did big things, he set up the fantastic four fights and golden boy are putting on some bad ass cards.

... Arum came no where close to what King did. And Golden boy is making a name off of putting old fighters on cards. But Golden Boy is trying to showcase younger, no named fighters in hopes of striking it big.

If Golden Boy can get a Chavez Jr., Berto and/or Martinez they can really establish themselves.

I think it's fair to say that Mayweather's appeal is waning unless he fights Pac-Man! So even a Mayweather doesn't excite the people anymore!!

Arum never put together cards as solid as King.

Golden Boy puts on the worst shows out of any major promoter, they routinely only have 1 fight worth its while on a card and that is the main event, they throw a prospect a bum for the undercards.
